All the Lebanese expats who returned Saturday from Kuwait, Dubai, Angola's Luanda and Rome have tested negative for the novel coronavirus, the Health Ministry said Sunday.

“The results of tests conducted for the 123 passengers who arrived yesterday aboard the flight coming from Kuwait have come out negative,” the Ministry said in a statement.

Lebanon has confirmed 11 new infections of the COVID-19 coronavirus, which raises the country's total to 630, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.

A proposed “haircut” draft law will not pass in parliament because it is a “blatant theft,” informed parliamentary sources have said.

President Michel Aoun addressed the Lebanese on Easter Day on Saturday extending well-wishes to all "Lebanese in general, and Christians in particular,” the National News Agency reported.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Saturday that reform in Lebanon is a “hopeless” case as long as “the trio” parties continue to dominate the country’s authority.

Ten new cases of coronavirus were recorded on Saturday raising the total number of people who retracted the virus to 619, the Health Ministry said.

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi urged the State in his Easter message on Saturday to focus on social justice, preserve the life savings of Lebanese in the banks and recover the State’s “looted” funds, the National News Agency reported.

The United States announced on Friday a 10 million-dollar reward for "any information on the activities, networks and associates" of Muhammad Kawtharani, a Lebanese Hizbullah commander accused of playing a key role in coordinating pro-Iran groups in Iraq. 

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri criticized the government in a tweet saying it “failed” to formulate a rescue economic plan for the country’s dwindling economic, and instead is heading towards an “economic suicide plan.”

The northern town of Bsharri will be isolated as of Saturday morning in order to contain a coronavirus outbreak there, its mayor said on Friday.

“Bsharri will be placed on lockdown as of 6:00 am tomorrow and exit and entry will be prohibited,” Bsharri municipal chief Freddy Kayrouz said.
