French Police Hunt Armed Croissant Robber

French police said Tuesday they were on the hunt for a man in his forties who has held up a series of bakeries in Paris suburbs to steal croissants and other baked goods.

Since December 9, the man has robbed five bakeries in western suburbs, police said, each time using the same modus operandi.

The Moroccan teenager at the center of Silvio Berlusconi's trial for sex with an underage prostitute has had a baby fathered by a nightclub owner more than twice her age, Italian media reported on Tuesday.

Dancer Karima El Mahroug, better known by her stage name "Ruby the Heart-Stealer," was just 17 when the then prime minister allegedly paid to have sex with her last year, a crime punishable by up to three years in prison.

Authorities Monday shut down Mexico's -- and possibly the world's -- biggest garbage dump and said they would invite bids to exploit methane gas generated by the decomposing waste.

Waste Management Commission chief Fernando Menendez called the closing "historic" as "it is the world's largest (truck-filled open-air) dump."

An Italian driver was stopped by astonished police in the southern city of Bari on Saturday when they saw him speaking on two phones with a handset in each hand and no control of the wheel.

Asked to explain his actions, the 43-year-old driver of an Alfa Romeo 166 saloon car said he was speaking to his wife when his mother called and he could not hang up on either of them, the Corriere Della Sera daily reported.

Pal Mugged While on Phone to Prince Harry

Prince Harry rushed to the aid of a friend who was robbed of his mobile phone while speaking to the royal, The Mail on Sunday newspaper said.
