Andy Warhol created pop art icons when he put Campbell's soup cans in paintings in 1962. Fifty years later, the paintings are inspiring the cans, in a limited edition homage to the artist.

To celebrate the anniversary of Warhol's work, "32 Campbell's Soup Cans" -- which helped launch pop art as a major art movement -- the soup company is redesigning the classic red-and-white labels in orange, blue, teal and rose.

Russian Girl, 14, Stages Armed Bank Robbery

A 14-year-old Russian girl in the Urals city of Izhevsk staged an armed bank robbery as part of a plan to run away from home and commit suicide, investigators said Thursday.

The girl, "wearing a mask and armed with a knife, carried out a raid on one of the city's commercial banks with the aim of stealing money but was stopped by the bank's security guards," the Investigative Committee said.

A Chinese man arrested for attempted theft after swallowing a diamond worth nearly $14,000 at a gem exhibition in Sri Lanka Wednesday will have to undergo surgery to remove the stone, police said.

Police in Japan have arrested a man who allegedly stole nearly 900 books from different libraries, a spokesman said Thursday.

Unemployed Mitsuka Suizu, 61, reportedly told officers: "I wanted to keep the books I read" after they discovered 896 volumes at his home in Ube, western Japan.
