Manchester United Slashes Price for U.S. IPO

Manchester United slashed the price of its U.S. share launch, cutting the amount it was raising in Friday's IPO to $233 million from a hoped-for $300 million or more.

The fabled team, mired in debt since 2005 after a heavily leveraged takeover by the Glazer family of Miami-based investors, lowered its price for the 16.7 million shares on offer to $14 late Thursday from the originally planned $16-20 range.

Lebanese Taekwondo Fighter Defeated in Olympics Quarterfinal

Andrea Paoli, the Lebanese Taekwondo fighter, was eliminated on Thursday from the 57kg taekwondo Olympics competition following a defeat to Chinese Taipei’s Li-Cheng Tseng in the quarterfinal.

She was defeated 2-5 during the match that was held on Thursday afternoon.
