An email scam which targets businesses with bogus invoices has netted more than $214 million from victims in 45 countries in just over one year, an FBI task force said Thursday.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center, a joint effort of the FBI and the nonprofit National White Collar Crime Center, said the losses were calculated from October 1, 2013 to December 1, 2014.

Twitter is updating its feeds to give users a recap of tweets missed while not connected to the messaging platform.

"A lot can happen while you’re on the go. To fill in some of those gaps, we will surface a few of the best tweets you probably wouldn't have seen otherwise, determined by engagement and other factors," Twitter product manager Paul Rosania said in a blog post Wednesday.

Google boss Eric Schmidt predicted on Thursday that the Internet will soon be so pervasive in every facet of our lives that it will effectively "disappear" into the background.
