Two Russian fighters entered a U.S. "air defense identification zone" two days ago and were intercepted by American F-22 jets near Alaska, military officers said Friday.

The incursion on Wednesday was followed by a second incident on Thursday involving two Russian long-range bombers, which flew into Canada's air defense identification zone (ADIZ) and were intercepted by two Canadian F-18 jets, officers said.

Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine Form Joint Brigade

Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine on Friday signed an agreement to form a joint brigade intended to modernize the Ukrainian army confronting pro-Kremlin separatists in the country's east.

"This shows our deep commitment to boosting the security and defense capabilities of our region, where the situation has become dangerous," Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski said after defense ministers from the three countries inked the accord in Warsaw.

A fresh round of talks on how to find a lasting solution to five months of brutal fighting in eastern Ukraine began on Friday in the Belarussian capital Minsk.

225 Victims of MH17 Identified

Forensic experts have identified a total of 225 victims of downed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, with 14 new names released to families, Dutch authorities said on Friday.

"Among the 14 victims, seven were Dutch and seven were of other nationalities," the justice ministry said in a statement, adding that those nationalities would not be released at the behest of their embassies.

Russia Evicts Crimean Tatars from Assembly

Russian authorities have ordered Crimean Tatars to leave their assembly building, in a move that the leader of the ethnic minority -- which opposed Russia's annexing of Crimea from Ukraine -- called a return to Soviet oppression.

Bailiffs told the Tatars' governing body, the Mejlis, that its members had until Friday to vacate their building in Simferopol, the regional capital of Russian-annexed Crimea, activists said.
