Pakistan Court Issues Arrest Warrants for Musharraf, Aziz

A Pakistani court on Friday issued an arrest warrant for former president Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz over the killing of a Baluch rebel leader, a lawyer said.

Musharraf was president and Aziz prime minister when the main leader of the rebel movement in southwestern province Baluchistan, tribal chieftain Nawab Akbar Bugti, died in a cave hideout during an army raid in August 2006.

Man Shot, Held after Firing at U.S. Mission in Sarajevo

A suspected radical Islamist gunman who opened fire Friday near the U.S. embassy in Sarajevo was wounded and arrested, a police spokesman told Bosnian television.

"The person who fired an automatic weapon was wounded and arrested during the police operation. After receiving medical treatment on the scene the person was hospitalized," police spokesman Irfan Nefic told national BHT television.

30,000 Call for Pakistan President to Go

More than 30,000 supporters of Pakistan's main opposition party took to the streets in a protest rally Friday, burning an effigy of President Asif Ali Zardari and demanding that he quit.

The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) called the rally in Lahore to exploit talk of early elections in its political heartland, where it controls the Punjab provincial government despite being in opposition at national level.

Kenyan Gets Life for Grenade Attack, Shebab Membership

A Kenyan man was sentenced to life imprisonment Friday after he admitted involvement in a grenade attack and membership of the al-Qaida linked Somali Shebab militant group.

"This sentence is harsh because police have provided evidence showing he intended to hurt the public," said Judge Grace Macharia at the sentencing of Elgiva Bwire Oliacha. "It is also meant to be a deterrent," she added.

London Court to Rule on Assange Extradition on Nov. 2

The High Court in London will rule on Wednesday on Sweden's bid to secure the extradition from Britain of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange over rape allegations, the court said on Friday.

"The High Court will hand down judgment in the above case at 9:45am (09:45 GMT) on Wednesday 2 November 2011 at the Royal Courts of Justice, London," said a statement.

Suicide Bomber Kills Two Pakistani Police

A suicide attack targeted a police officer in northwest Pakistan on Friday, killing him and his driver on the outskirts of the garrison city of Nowshera, police said.

The suicide bomber blew himself up alongside the officer's private car as his driver slowed down to approach a speed bump in Risalpur. The targeted officer was the local police official in charge of the suburb.

Israeli Confesses in U.S. Kidney Smuggling Ring

An Israeli man pleaded guilty in New Jersey on Thursday to brokering kidney transplants as part of a black market organ business, U.S. prosecutors said.

Levy Izhak Rosenbaum, 60, confessed in federal court in Trenton, New Jersey, to three counts of acquiring and transferring human organs and a fourth count of conspiracy.
