A former elementary school principal in Iowa was sentenced to 30 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to one count of producing child pornography involving students at his school, officials said.
Robert Burke, 43, admitted that as head of the school in Dubuque, Iowa, he had "used hidden cameras in the school bathroom to secretly capture videos depicting the genitals of male students," said the U.S. Justice Department

Envoys of U.S. President Barack Obama voiced "deep concern" at violence and the humanitarian crisis on the border of Sudan and South Sudan during a visit to the region, the White House said Monday.

Iran on Tuesday blasted new sanctions against the Islamic republic announced by the United States, Britain and Canada as "reprehensible and ineffective."

Fourteen Pakistani soldiers were killed Monday in an ambush blamed on separatist rebels in the country's southwestern Baluchistan province, the Frontier Corps paramilitary force said.
