accountability is what makes a state.
they murdered these 2 people, so they should be judged.
this will reinforce confidence in the army that it does not accept rogue elements within its ranks.
as long as this government is not filing a formal complaint at the UN, all they are doing is questionable.
the army does not seem to be sent to the north to defend us from syrian aggressions, it is sent there to protect the syrian regime.
this will backfire and divide the army.
in another post, I clarified why I believe these SOBs in this government are pushing the army to break:
- a shiite officer is sent to the north and kills a sunni sheikh and his compagnon.
- this government does not file a complaint against the daily syrian aggressions.
- this government sends the army to the north to protect the syrian regime.
if this is going to continue, this army of ours will break at the first engagement with lebanese in the north, taking into account the fact that most of its soldiers comes from the north.
this government is doing whatever to divide the army so that hizbushaitan has an excuse to keep control over its weapons.
Totally agree: they should be tried too. beating people for no valid reason is against the law.
this will make the guys giving such orders to think twice before they repeat such behavior.
logically the army's role is on the borders and ISF role is inside the country.
in all cases, when someone does not stop, you shoot his tires, and not shower him with over 60 bullets aiming mainly on his head.
this is normal behavior for normal people: even when you fly on vacation to another country, you respect that country's laws and traditions.
however, there are people who want go to other countries expecting they can do whatever they want, and this is so unfortunate as they are then faced with the laws of that country.
it is also the same for gulf countries: there are people who criticize their laws and traditions, and at the same time they go there to shop or work, while still criticizing.....
the bottom line: if you go to another country, respect its laws and traditions even if you do not like them, otherwise please do not go there.
Desperate times for the falling syrian regime and his allies :)
the syrians know they are welcome in Lebanon, and the only side that might be behind this is the syrian regime and hizbushaitam.
