based on this declaration by Russia (maybe they are testing international reaction?) it is to be expected that civil war will start soon in Ukraine backed by the West on one side and by Russia on the other, I.e. another Syria.
but in this case, the west is really hurting Russia: Ukraine controls the flow of Russian Gas.
just to put things in perspective to those skeptic and "pedants" :) :
- sudan and Libya's oil and production are now available to Europe.
- Nigeria's and Iraq oil too.
- Qatar gas production is now finally available too.
- iran is about to be allowed to sell its oil too.
these sources which were not available previously, can counter the disruptions of the Russian gas.
furthermore, on a longer run, Cyprus, Israel Lebanon and Syria can produce gas and supply it to Europe.
so ft, when you want to say something, do your homework first.
