Cabinet to Tackle ‘Legality’ of Providing Intelligence Branch with Telecom Data

31 January 2012, 16:26

there had been a debate during 13 days (and even before that) over the ISF wanting full access to communications, and suddenly the ISF comes up with "information" an "alleged plot" to assassinate ISF chief colonel?
kind of convenient isnt it?

Process of Dismantling Jal el-Dib Bridge Begins

it's sad that it took a building collapse and 27 dead to trigger awareness, but at least it's good they are reacting and taking quick measures.

Aoun: Those Who Plundered Lebanon Will Meet us in Court

01 February 2012, 11:56

"coolmec" there's a difference between donations made to him directly, in support of his cause and what he stands for, and plundering state funds and plunging our country into abyssal debts to fill their pockets.

IF, as you say, Aoun received "gold bracelets & chains" form people who gave them to him, than those people are the only ones who can ask for accountability, not the nobody that you are. Simply chou khassak w chou elak ma3on?

as for the other thieve-lovers and shoe-shiners you should be ashamed of yourselves to be defending that bunch of crabs and attacking the only one who has been asking for a full (including himself) audit of public funds. you claim to be modern, and want to see yourselves as progressives but you are the scum who keep us down.

March 14 to Syrian People: Democracy in Syria Will Guarantee Lebanon’s Independence

01 February 2012, 17:11

allouchi: "No one can disagree" <-- is that your perception of democracy?

lol just like the Saudi-sponsored puppets you support you have no idea of what democracy means, and that cheesy statement is at best wishful thinking, at worst calculated deception because we all know if ever assad falls the muslim brotherhood will take over, and you can kiss any hope of democracy goodbye.

Russia to Veto Any 'Unacceptable' Syria Resolution, Paris Says Death Toll at 6,000

youssefhaddad> you should write a letter to Lavrov, i'm sure they lack impressive analytical minds such as yours, and would cherish your great strategic input.

March 14 to Syrian People: Democracy in Syria Will Guarantee Lebanon’s Independence

youssefhaddad> you should also remember who gave the lebanese army ammo and weapons to fight the salafis in nahr el bared when they ran out.

peace> before saying who denies them their choice, you should abstain of deciding for them what their choice is. who are you to speak for syrians? at the last poll, conducted by Yougov for the Doha Debates and funded by Qatar, 55% of Syrians are in favor of Assad.

Funny how "democracies" are imposed by foreign powers with bombs and mercenaries, from Iraq to Syria, while Saudi, Qatari, Kuwaiti and Bahreini who remain the most totalitarian and fundamentalist regimes, yet are docile to the imperial powers, get tapped on the shoulder for their great support.

Russia to Veto Any 'Unacceptable' Syria Resolution, Paris Says Death Toll at 6,000

02 February 2012, 12:57

jimbei : cut the crap dude, there's a war going on between salafi / muslim brotherhood and the Syrian government, who still has the support of the majority of Syrians. it is not a democracy, and it never pretended to be, but it is much more legitimate authority then their counterparts in qatar/bahrein/saudi who are giving moral lessons.

a war is going on, and despite your naive claims that the "poor peaceful protesters" are "only now" starting to fight back, we know, for a fact that they have been armed and violent from the start in Deraa. that 6000 figure is totally uncorroborated, only source is the "london syrian observatory" who was created specially for the occasion, as a mouthpiece for the rebels.
despite that even if we accept the figure of 6000, it is not rationally possible that they are all killed "by the regime". it takes two to tango.

now go on, keep making us laugh when you call people retards and think u're in position to give advices to one of the greatest nations in terms of military and political strategic planning

"The Truth" man i almost shed a tear as you made me realize that the true intentions of the saudi-qatari kings and US militaro-political oligarchs was the lives of Arabs, not the money.

Protesters Throw Shoes at U.N. Chief in Gaza

"a barrage of rockets"

a "barrage" ? really?
as in
a. A heavy curtain of artillery fire directed in front of friendly troops to screen and protect them.

b. A rapid, concentrated discharge of missiles, as from small arms.
or
c. An overwhelming, concentrated outpouring ?

Please Naharnet, I know you copied from AFP, as indicated, but think of Confucius' words:
“When words lose their meaning, people lose their freedom”
