"BEIRUT: Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stressed Monday that the “sectarian spirit” was the main obstacle hindering the unity of the Lebanese.
Berri said that the old version of Article 95 of the Constitution cemented sectarianism “while the Lebanese government at the time of independence slammed sectarianism and indicated its negative consequences.”
At an event convened by the American University of Beirut Alumni Association at Le Bristol Hotel, the speaker spoke about the formation of a national committee tasked with abolishing political sectarianism."
regarding Aoun and Nasrallah, their MOU since they allied specifies the need to work towards a secular state.
and regarding your question " since when in laic countries you here a priest is inviting politicians to meet and discuss political issues ?"
i just told you we are not a laic country! i wish we were, but we a re not, so whether we like it or not this is a fact to take into consideration.
enjoying the ethical values of your friends?
they are the lowest level of kidnapping and blackmail. glad to see they make you proud, shows what you're worth.
utter BS. the pilgrims are in no way responsible for any past abduction, this is not eye for eye, this is the lowest level of blackmail and taking innocents hostage.
rami assassinations were never one-sided only. when hariri was killed there was a simultaneous plot to kill berri which failed if you remember.
also there were many 'successful' assassinations, including mughniyeh for instance.
tens of palestinian leaders were also assassinated by israel in lebanon in the past decade.
these target all of us, they try to instill hatred and tensions by killing left and right, we should not fall for it.
first i never supported any abduction, nor rejoiced about it like your friends here.
also, may i ask what others? as far as i know, there were some missing people and speculations that syrian intelligence abducted them, but no tangible elements. rumors and media campaigns do not constitute proofs.
if the rebels had taken syrian intelligence officers as prisoners, that would be 'fair game' and be worthy of a minimum of respect, no matter where you stand. but taking random pilgrims just because they are lebanese shia to use them as hostages is plain coward and disgraceful
