indeed, syria has become a battleground for the whole region, and beyond. assir might be making this theatrical call now, but who here thinks that the lebanese salafis werent already involved in syria? it's an empty aggressive claim made by assir to exacerbate tensions with HA, who he has been trying to provoke for a very long time already.
some will say i am biased, and i certainly am, but i do believe HA is not involved beyond what they say (defending border villages inhabited by 30,000+ lebanese, who happen to be shia and threatened with massacres)
i will keep believing this as long as not a single proof has been provided by the rebels to back the claim that HA takes part in the army assaults. and this makes a huge difference, it's the difference between supporting the legitimate right to self defense of those villagers versus taking part in a war that does not concern them.
i'm really not too sure about the boston bombing, i havent looked at the circumstances very clearly, because i honestly dont really care, yes i feel with the innocent victims but not more than i do for the innocent victims in syria, iraq, afghanistan, and all over the world.
also because i believe the US foreign policy is not moved by such minor events, they can afford to lose tens of thousands of soldiers in iraq & afghanistan, it's not 3 dead in boston that will divert their policies. i think the strategic shift was made months ago, they struck a deal with russia after obama's reelection, i think now they are just letting the extremists be finished, they wont call them back because they would have to deal with them..
it's sad, really, and again i see what you mean..
i looked up the article, found it here:
http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/notorious-muslim-gang-off-the-street/story-e6frfkp9-1226114240164
it talks about a muslim brotherhood gang, and yes they are sunnis but they do not represent all sunnis... it's mainly sad because they give a bad image not only to sunnis but to all arabs and muslims.
if you are of arab descent you are likely to be judged negatively because of them as well. you judging the entire sunni community on basis of the negative actions of a few validates others judging all arabs negatively because of the actions of a few...
sorry for drifting over this, my main point is just to avoid generalizing, because once you go down that road there's no end to it. we're all humans, we all share the same DNA, so generalizing means all humans are bad (which they probably are - lol did i just defeat my own point? ;))
there was no artillery fire from hermel to syria, rockets went the other way actually
and yes, the rebels and their spokesman in london keep repeating the same accusation that HA is leading the attack but except adding empty words they didnt provide anything tangible.
