This suffice to say that it's not limited to Dahiye only as some want to make us believe. Plus we're talking about IMPOVERISHED areas & people who, regardless of their religious group, barely have enough money to eat.

You may not realize from your little ivory tower, but there IS a lot of misery in Lebanon.

I say haram, no matter if you're Muslim, Christian, Jewish or Druze, I wouldn't cut you the electricity if you couldn't afford to pay it. There is a minimum that solidarity should ensure.

Speaking for myself, since i can afford to pay 100$ of generator fees, I would be glad to pay 50$ instead in addition to what I already pay to EDL if this meant we can have 24/7 electricity without cutting it off from people in need, whether they're in the north, south, metn or wherever

What I find really shameful is those who keep barking their sectarian hatred and oppose any chance of developing our electricity infrastructure because they would rather stay in the dark than let their neighbor get away with some crumbs.

But leave Dahiye alone for a second, take a deep breath and focus on the issue at hand: we have a electrical production capacity deficit, which causes us to have to resort to generators, which are more costly and polluting and mean that considerable sums of money (in my case like 4 times more than my EDL bill!) are diverted from the system.

This is not just a "business" which you decide to expand or not, it is a basic, vital public service that should be provided to all. Those who can pay have to pay, those who really cant should be exempted.
