Obama and Kerry are trying to make it seems like they're promoting peace by forcing Netanyahu and Abbas to meet each other so that Kerry could take a photo with them. They think they can make everyone forget how they screwed up the entire middle east. However this forced charade is not only fake but also dangerous, as it could make the Palestinians feel like they have to prove they're still fighting Israel, and thus cause much bloodshed on both sides.
This is one of the reasons why they keep giving the aid money, so they could use Israel and scarify its people for the glory of the US. I hope we'd some day have a prime minister brave enough to tell them to cut the aid.
