new guy. Assad sent the Palestinians promising them money. They didn't do it out of patriotic reasons. Assad doesn't attack us himself, he has HA to do it for him. It might (or might not) increase out problems on the Syrian border, but it will lower our problems on the Lebanese border. In any case, I don't want my country to meddle with other countries internal affairs. Just look what happened when we did it in Lebanon. It caused only harm to both of our countries.
Unbelievable. Take control of your country first, then file complaints. If the rocket that were shot from Lebanon into Israel isn't the responsibility of Lebanon it means southern Lebanon isn't part of Lebanon.
Mustapha, what's the point of reaching peace with Abbas, who doesn't rule anything? Our war is with Hamas so peace must be reached with Hamas. Gali, it wasn't Barak with the covered lenses, it was the idiot Perets who was appointed only so a thief can be the finance minister. LebExile, I hope to god you're correct. I wish I could visit Lebanon some day, and not as a soldier like my father did.
castro, you have tried to use them as a weapon against Israel for over 60 years, but the only ones who suffered from it is you. If you just made them citizens instead of keeping them in camps Lebanon would be much better of today.
Castro, it was Lebanon's decision not to naturalize the Palestinians when they first arrived. Look at Israel. In the 50's we received hundreds of thousands refugees from all over the Muslim world, from Morocco to Iran. Shortly after, they were no longer refugees. The Palestinians in Lebanon could have easily assimilated in the Sunni community of Lebanon which is more liberal than any Sunni community in the middle east. Why wouldn't they? Two hundred years ago there was no Palestine or Lebanon it was all Syria, the distinction is only political.
John, I don't know where you get your statistics from, but Jews are still a majority between the sea and the river and will stay that way thanks to increasing birthrate by Jews and decreasing birthrate by Muslims (The Christians, like in Lebanon, are far behind). I agree that the two state solution is a bad idea. Gaza should be annexed by Egypt and the WB should be split between Israel and Jordan (after the king is overthrown) .
I remember days when most of this site's "middle east news" section was devoted to Israel. Now there's 1 article out of 12, and even that one look ridiculous next to other articles about dozens who get killed all over the middle east. Israel turned from the most eventful country in the middle east into a beacon of stability and normality.
I like how Jabal Amal uses Palpetine as avatar to remind everyone he's the bad guy. That said, reporting everything Hariri twits doesn't exactly make naharnet seem like a neutral news outlet.
