I saw flags of the FPM, LF, Hezbollah and mustaqbul moventmet during last nights celebrations... I hope its more then just flag waving and more substantial. Going to take courage from all sides, most importantly from hezbollah politically for Lebanon's sake!

This time with President Aoun, hopefully that sort of absolute corruption will be a thing of the past... we still have Berri and jumblatt to convince. Maybe the 1st act of the new cabinet is the establishment of an anti corruption watchdog that gives forgiveness and amnesty to past wrongs, so long as all future actions are under their jurisdiction. Hopefully that will be enough for it to pass as law!

Definitely will be interesting to see but with my positive goggles on, i'm hoping most of this would have been agreed before hand. Will be interesting to see if they give up the finance ministry.

Just praying that this presidential election alliance/agreement goes beyond the actual election of president Aoun and is more substantial as the MOU with Hezbollah.

The problem with lebanese politics is that electorial alliances extend to only the election result and then falls apart. If a true political agenda/policy alliance can be agreed then Lebanese have a chance of a functioning government.

Its not about sectarian corruption but all corruption and its telling that Berri is so against Aoun. This M8/M14 rubbish should be over. It should be about the style of governance! Working for the people or earning from the people.

It shouldn't be about tripoli but all Lebanon... The problem people had with Hariri was that most of his concerns focused on his construction investments in downtown Beirut. How much money his construction companies made in Solidere company? This is the problem and I will for once give Saad Hariri a chance to prove that perception wrong... If he care less about profit of his companies and more about the building of the Lebanese republic then he could become a heroic Lebanese patriot! I know its a big naive hope but you never know... Lets be hopefull and give him a chance. If he has made this deal with Aoun for his personal business opurtunities then God help all Lebanese!

True lubnani.masi7i, but its historically a ministry that mustaqbul has controlled. Same as the foreign ministry for Amal etc. Amal releasing the foreign ministry was subject to them acquiring the finance ministry. All the wheeling and dealing of the upcoming cabinet will be interesting and i think show us how much change the lebanese can expect.

True Basil took over in the last 5 years (with most of those years have been useless caretaker governments) and attempted to reduce the power shortage by hiring turkish floating power generators that have reduced the power shortage... did he also anticipate an extra 1.5 million refugees living in lebanon? Imagine what would be the daily power outage if didn't act? Action is what we need. W by cant we agree to drill the gas and oil in the med sea? Are we waiting for Israel to drain the whole basin first? Or are we waiting to agree politician payments? There is no border in an underwater gas basin! Israel has been pumping for the past 5 years while our "politicians" argue their commissions!
