Jumblat Says Political Extortion Should Stop

12 September 2011, 18:01

The old mafia ways of cut backs and pay offs are no longer acceptable. Proportional representation is only complicated to those who will lose seats that were usually allocated to vote buying!

This government and all future ones should fall if the old corrupt mafia style system is allowed to continue. The Murr family is already out, and any other mafia family type organisations like psp or berri's amal need to adopt or fail.

Jumblat-Hizbullah Ties in Tatters over al-Rahi’s Statements

13 September 2011, 12:12

Wow... He hasn't changed his stance in 3 years... LoL!

The hesteria of the Lebanese media adds fuel to conflict in lebanon. If someone farts, you'll have some media organisation reporting that a "unnamed official" or "source" smelt that fart and believes it smelt like kibbi nayhe from the bsharri region, there for that person must have been conspiring with geagea against so and so.... Really, Lebanon's news media is no more than gossip tabloids, and the prostitutes, we call politicians, play along like actors in a Mexican soap opera.

Old man... Not funny!

Young Nadim is more his mother than father. No amount of tough talk will change that.

Marc, I agree with every word.

Hariri on Democracy Day: Arms Greatest Threat to Democracy

How free, democratic and respectful of human rights is your country Saudi Arabia??

Hypocrite

Hariri on Democracy Day: Arms Greatest Threat to Democracy

16 September 2011, 11:16

Canaanite, what has Saudi Arabia got to do with the west? Are you saying that Saudi Arabia is free and democratic western nation? You can't even compare Iran with Saudi Arabia when taking citizens rights and freedoms. Freedom of religion and women's rights are hundreds of years advanced compared to Saudi Arabia the barbarian, backward medieval kingdom.

Voyager, Saudi Arabia is Saadadine "Abu Abdul Aziz" Hariri's country whether you like it or not. He was born and raised there. He still lives there with his family. He only came to Lebanon after his father was martyred. I'm only pointing out the hyprocracy of his Syrian positions compared to bahrain and clearly pro Saudi Arabian which is the most oppressive nation in the world after afganistan.

Gemayel in Saudi to Meet Number of High-Ranking Officials

Mr brain.... I agree. I always wonder whether a military dictatorship for a few decades to release Lebanon from these sectarian muppets.

Jumblat Meets Sarkozy’s Advisors in France

Mustapha, you are full of crap. For someone who calls the Batrak, "Monsignor", why do you think anyone would believe your rubbish?

There have only been 3 lebanese cardinals in history. The past three batraks and they were created anywhere between 4 and 10 years after becoming the Patriarch. Only after the previous cardinal passing away. There will never be two Lebanese cardinals, because the Maronites account for no more than a few million world wide and most cardinals only real job is the election of the new pope. Before the 50s, cardinals were only Italian, so as to be close enough to the Vatican to convene immediately to elect the new pope. As most patriarchs retire, there is a natural gap between the creation of another cardinal.

The batrak is higher office than a cardinal. As he is the "pope" of the east underneath the bishop of Rome, "the Pope".

So thanks mustapha for once again explaining to us about our church.

Report: U.S. Seeks Explanations as Vatican Postpones al-Rahi’s Promotion to Cardinal

19 September 2011, 17:33

Jabal amel, it is not a mistake to be in communion with the bishop of Rome, who is the descendant of st. Peter, the first bishop of Rome. Jesus told Peter that "you are my rock, and on this rock I will build my church."

Do not believe these silly "news" articles. The patriarch and the Maronite church are very special in the eyes of the Vatican. If the batrak is made a cardinal, it will be something extremly unusual so quickly after becoming batrak, with past cardinals positions being granted after 4-10 years. There has never been two Lebanese cardinals, and usually it takes the death of the predecessor. The main job of the cardinal is really only to elect a new pope. The position of Patriarch of Antioch and all Maronites is much higher position than cardinal, and cardinal Sfeir answers to Batrak al-Rahi.

Never say never... Never been two Maronite cardinals. Who Is Sayigh? Melkite?

Point is, Maronites are only a few million in the world, and to have two cardinals representing such a small community (most cardinals represent average over 10 million) would mean a very big, unprecedented endorsement by the Vatican, of batrak al Rahi. I agree with bigdig. This is the view of the Vatican, especially after the Sunni extremist attacks on christains in Iraq.

Saudi Beheads Sudanese 'Sorcerer'

20 September 2011, 10:01

This is truly an evil backward country. This is were sheik Amin is taking his son. This is were saad hariri is from. This is what is install for Syria. This is what they want for Lebanon. this is where al Qaida is funded and born. This is what the mustaqbul movement is becoming thanks to saadadine (Abu Abdul Aziz) Hariri!

Beheading someone for being a sorcerer? Shocking.
