القاعدة "ليست مسؤولة" عن الهجوم على القنصلية الاميركية في بنغازي

ذكرت صحيفة "نيويورك تايمز" السبت ان تنظيم القاعدة ليس ضالعا بشكل مباشر في الهجوم على القنصلية الاميركية في بنغازي الذي اسفر عن مقتل اربعة اميركيين بينهم السفير في 11 ايلول 2012.
وفي تحقيق نشره الموقع الالكتروني للصحيفة ويستند الى تحقيقات واسعة جرت في المدينة الواقعة شرق ليبيا، اكدت صحيفة نيويورك تايمز ان مقتل السفير الاميركي كريس ستيفنز وثلاثة من مواطنيه حصل على يد مقاتلين محليين.
ويمكن ان يثير هذا لتحقيق جدلا في واشنطن حيث واجهت ادارة الرئيس باراك اوباما مرارا اتهامات بالتستر على الوقائع التي جرت خلال هجوم بنغازي.
ونفت الحكومة الاميركية ذلك.
واكدت الصحيفة ايضا ان الهجوم قد يكون صنيعة متظاهرين غاضبين اقتحموا البعثة الدبلوماسية الاميركية اثر نشر قنوات تلفزيونية محلية مقتطفات من فيلم مسيء للاسلام منتج في الولايات المتحدة.
واشارت نيويورك تايمز استنادا الى شهادات سكان من بنغازي على علم مباشر بملابسات الهجوم، الى انها "لم تجد اي دليل بان القاعدة او مجموعات دولية اخرى لعبت دورا في الهجوم" على القنصلية الاميركية.
واوضحت الصحيفة ان "الهجوم نفذه مقاتلون استفادوا مباشرة من الدعم اللوجستي والامكانات الجوية الكبيرة لحلف شمال الاطلسي خلال الانتفاضة" ضد نظام معمر القذافي الذي قتل في تشرين الاول 2011.
وذكرت نيويورك تايمز نقلا عن مسؤولين اميركيين مطلعين على مسار التحقيق الجنائي في الهجوم، ان احد المشتبه فيهم الرئيسيين هو الزعيم المتمرد المحلي احمد بوختالة.
وبحسب تحقيق الصحيفة، فإن احمد بوختالة كان موجودا في البعثة الاميركية لحظة الهجوم. وفي مقابلة مع نيويورك تايمز، اقر الزعيم المتمرد بانه كان حاضرا في المكان لحظة الهجوم. الا ان بوختالة نفى مسؤوليته عن هذا الهجوم.
وكتبت الصحيفة ان "بوختالة قال علنا انه وضع الولايات المتحدة بعد نظام العقيد القذافي على لائحة الكفار الاعداء".
وتابعت ان "لا ارتباط معروفا له مع مجموعات ارهابية وتمكن من الافلات من عمليات المراقبة التي كلف بها المركز الذي يضم فريقا من عشرين شخصا من وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية (سي آي ايه) لمتابعة الوضع في المدينة".
واوضحت نيويورك تايمز نقلا عن عدد من الاشخاص الذين كانوا حاضرين عند وقوع الهجوم ان بوختالة "كان شخصية مركزية" في الوقائع لكن "عناصر عفويين" تورطوا في الهجوم.
واوضحت الصحيفة ان "الغضب من فيلم فيديو ادى الى بدء الهجوم، ثم انضم عشرات بعضهم غاضبون من الفيديو والآخرون كانوا يردون على شائعات انتشرت بسرعة تفيد ان الحراس داخل المجمع قاموا باطلاق النار على محتجين ليبيين".

U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens was involved in trying to delegate the dispersal of Gadhafi weapons. The usual heavy handed demands of the US were not appreciated.
Those weapons of Gadhafi were supposed to be "earmarked" for transport to Syria and many were however those weapons have also appeared in the Sinai, Mali and elsewhere.
Benghazi has been a Qaeda hub for years now, even under the repression of Gadhafi. Since Gadhafi Benghazi has blossomed into a full blown terrorist gathering point and training area.
The assassination of Stevens was and is part and parcel of the decline of US and the West's influence and operational capabilities throughout MENA and all Muslim areas.

For the criticizers of Mubarak Hussein Obama, it does not matter whether Al Qaeda had "direct" involvement in the incident or a lesser role. Al-Qaeda had already arrived Libya. Whether it was perpetrated by card carrying Libyan Al-Qaeda that hate the U.S. or garden variety Libyans who hate the U.S., either way most Americans deem it as a "terrorist" act for which they expected the swift response as often times done in the past. But not under Mubarak Hussein Obama. These Libyans were not just "some angry couple of guys walking by decided to attack the Americans". That video has nothing to do with the U.S. (the author was a Coptic Egyptian pissed off at the Egyptian Muslim Bros. which is ironic since the Egyptians had the common sense and resolve to get rid of the Bros.) as the vast majority of the Americans do not care about their own religion, let alone Islam. The U.S. is a business and they care about the business.

Shame on they current U.S. government for not giving their best to address the attack head on and past administrations for not taking out the leader of Al-Qaeda when they had the chances. But I agree with most of those who post remarks on this site. These countries, including Russia, need "strong man" dictators, and the U.S. should not interfere even if they kill their own people with chemical weapons and the sort. Let that be the responsibility of the U.N. or new world leader waiting on the deck. Like China, Russia, etc. Specially so if the next U.S. President happens to be a "Libertarian".
