Read this story in English W460

@FT : if Aoun is no candidate, then :

1- Which candidate is he supporting ?
2- Why is he boycotting the elections ?
3- Why does he fail to propose a candidate with FPM backing ?

Because you're full of it !

ROAR : ".I am so confident now, that an M8 approved candidate will become Pres"

You don't have to be a nuclear scientist to determine any president will be approved by both M8 and M14. It's simple math !

Prominent FPM sources told the daily: “The meeting with Bassil would not have taken place had Hariri not been receptive to the possibility of Aoun's nomination.”

Lol nice way to spin it so they do not sound like they are shihadeen loll

Good point I guess Hariri showed he had more character in his little finger than Hezbo has in truck loads. Yes he met his political foes hezbos lack of respect for the Christian post was on display for all to see when they were the only ones to refuse to accept Geageas program.

Don't be so hard on him he hasn't heard the term beggars can't be choosers. Hariri should buy aoun a golden walking frame as a retirement present.

@FT stop taking things so personal and getting all riled up. I checked back on your comment, you did say that you were correct. So my next question is: Where is the M8 candidate? and give me some names.

Ziad Baroud and Kattar for presidency. Either one I'll take.

@FT : "M8 will announce its candidates in due time" ?

What's the hurry ? The electoral deadline has started and M8 is doing nothing else then stalling to create vaccum.

Due time you say... it's all on you !!!

Pathetic excuse for a human being you are. You and all the remaining M8 blind idiot sheep who believe democracy is blackmailing your opponents and votes are counted by the number of weapons you have !

Good summation, right on the money. However I disagree HA will resort to assassinations. HA, much to my chagrin has become a regional powerhouse with indirect backing from US foreign policy due to the rapprochement between US and Iran and strained ties between KSA and USA. I resent HA's political wins and successes but I am no fool, I understand they held, currently hold and will continue to hold into the foreseeable future, the power of decision making and execution with total and impugned disregard of the state and half the Lebanese civilian population. Slamming HA serves nothing but festering ulcers and heartburn. What we have to do is politically outmaneuver them and I am not clever enough to do it and I sorry but I haven't seen or heard anyone that can, including Aoun and Geagea. For now they win and I lose. And that's how the cookie crumbles.

Thumb Bandoul 17:50 ,2014

I don't ignore or deny any of their alleged violence some of which I might add is obvious and proven and some still awaiting to be proven; examples are all of the assassinations you apparently assume and theorize they have committed. Innocent till proven guilty anyone? All I am saying is that they are in a more powerful position that does not requiring them to resort to violence. They pretty much control everything now and only answer to Iran if they answer to anyone at all. Presidential vacuum or favorable president will not impede their agenda. Their rhetoric about a president that favors HA is just saber rattling and to give the appearance they support their ally Aoun even though the MOU is now meaningless because they have realized that they can take what they want unopposed with or without political cover from half the Christians.

Thumb Bandoul 19:48 ,2014

You're just not open to theories that differ with yours. HA is soliciting the help of the army because its resources are tied up in Syria and on their list of priorities winning that war is top priority and they are willing to take the hit on the internal skirmishes. When the cat is out, the mice are bound to play.

Thumb Bandoul 19:51 ,2014

And yes, HA is much much much stronger and it is now indirectly backed by Obama's foreign policies because he sees the Sunni threat as a much larger problem than the Shiite threat. Sorry dude, it is what it is.

Thumb Bandoul 20:50 ,2014

You mean wishful thinking? If you have a peaceful and attainable solution, please propose it as I oppose the HA military wing from A to Z and would to like very much to see them disarm and share power democratically without having recourse to weapons to impose their will as they have in the past. HA is here to stay, the only way their arms are going to be rolled into a defense strategy under the control of the state is if they agree to it PERIOD. Hatred, accusation, frustration, crushed dreams and rantings are of no consequences to them, they have proved that to anyone who will listen, time and time again. Every time Nasrallah wags his finger on CCTV, take heed, this man means what he says and says what he means, you just have to listen because face it, you are powerless over them.

Aoun not a candidate.. YEAH RIGHT! HAHAHA funny!

..In the meantime, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri is waiting to make sure that General Michel Aoun has indeed made an under the table agreement with the Future Movement. In fact, since the formation of the new government, Berri has been telling people in his inner circle that some sort of secret agreement has been reached though he is not sure about it yet.. the Free Patriotic Movement is awaiting Hariri’s position about Aoun’s potential candidacy to decide whether to provide a quorum. If Hariri’s team continues to stalls, Aoun and his allies would not attend the next session, creating a lack of quorum. However, if Hariri officially declares the same negative position that has been reiterated by Future Movement MPs, Aoun will have to reconsider his options as a non-consensus candidate.

Is Aoun a candidate and who's narrative tells us he is anyway
.. Aoun is convinced that the president will not be [chosen] in Lebanon, but will be the result of a US-Iranian agreement – or disagreement – and all the US-Saudi and Iranian-Saudi discussions that come before,” a source close to Aoun told Al-Akhbar newspaper in remarks published Saturday. The source also said that Aoun’s ties with the Future Movement were improving, adding that Aoun wanted to get Hariri’s approval of him becoming a president in case international countries approved of him...

Quorum will be met as soon as 65 votes for Mr Aoun are guaranteed and not a second before! Congratulations to him and his benefactors, Openly HA/M8 and behind the scenes Mr. Jumblat and Mr. Harriri for the right prizes and party favors. I am not going to be a sore loser, just a sad and disappointed realist. Oh and by the way, congratulations Mr. Harriri on the premiership, I think this time they will promise to let you server a full term, or maybe two as long as you play nice. There I said it, I am over it...anyone waiting for a different outcome, I pray you get what you want but the sooner you understand the game the better you will feel.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 23:09 ,2014

so you truly feel that Harriri will completely sell out and very soon. Not sure I agree but we should find out soon enough. I personally don't see any advantage to having Aoun as president over a vacuum. That's just my opinion.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 00:13 ,2014

Bandoul- don't get me wrong. I am not painting you as an M8 or M14. but let's be clear, Harriri making this concession is a full blown sell out. This is the guy that took part in bringing down his cabinet and gave political cover to the party that killed his father and threatened him to a point where he left the country and has yet to return. My point of view. this is a complete sell out and I will lose all respect for him and his party should they do this.

Nothing makes me LAUGH harder than M8'er's in particular aounie'ye who through their own spite are having a fit at the fact that da3ess 3'ala ra'betkoun Geagea is a MUCH smarter, man and politician than their beloved aoun.
By announcing his candidacy and program up front, he has exposed these frauds and has made them look like claouns. Their version of democracy is obviously preceeded by BC and the very sight of jedo running around the world, sending Imbessil on field trips to salvage his long lost honor is a sad sad sight for such an old man to be disgracing himself in this way.
They hate the fact this is correct and do not know what el supremo jedo is doing so they come on here and throw air swings at everything hoping they may land a punch..tisk tisk tisk ...
