مجلس الامن يؤكد دعمه للحكومة ويدعو لانتخاب رئيس "سريعا"

اكد مجلس الامن الدولي الخميس دعمه للحكومة في الازمة التي تشهدها البلاد، مطالبا في الوقت عينه مجلس النواب بانتخاب رئيس للجمهورية في أسرع وقت ممكن.
وفي ختام جلسة مناقشات مغلقة اعرب اعضاء المجلس الـ15 عن "دعمهم للحكومة اللبنانية ولرئيس الوزراء" تمام سلام، بحسب ما اعلن للصحافيين السفير الروسي فيتالي تشوركين الذي تتولى بلاده في ايلول الرئاسة الدورية للمجلس.
واضاف تشوركين ان الدول الاعضاء في مجلس الامن "جددت التأكيد على ضرورة ان يلتئم البرلمان اللبناني وينتخب رئيسا للجمهورية في اسرع وقت ممكن لوضع حد لحالة الاضطراب الدستوري".
واكد السفير الروسي ان مجلس الامن "مستمر في مراقبة الوضع من كثب، دعما لوحدة لبنان وسيادته واستقراره واستقلاله ولشعبه".
ومن المقرر ان تعقد مجموعة الدعم الدولية للبنان اجتماعا على هامش الجمعية العامة للامم المتحدة في نهاية أيلول الجاري.
وخلال جلسة الاربعاء اطلع سفراء الدول الاعضاء في مجلس الامن على احاطة عن الوضع في لبنان من المنسقة الخاصة للامم المتحدة في هذا البلد سيغريد كاغ.
وتبدي الحكومة عجزا كاملا عن حل ازمة النفايات المستمرة منذ اكثر من شهر على الرغم من التظاهرات التي تشهدها البلاد وتصعيد ناشطي المجتمع المدني تحركاتهم الاحتجاجية ضد الشلل الحكومي والفساد.
وبدأ حراك المجتمع المدني بعد ان غزت النفايات شوارع بيروت ومناطق اخرى في أزمة نتجت عن اقفال مطمر الناعمة وعن انتهاء عقد شركة مكلفة جمع النفايات من دون التوصل الى ابرام عقد جديد.
واضيفت ازمة النفايات الى الازمة السياسية الناجمة عن شغور في موقع رئاسة الجمهورية، وعن توترات امنية متقطعة على خلفية النزاع في سوريا، ما اعطى مجلس النواب ذريعة لتجديد ولايته للمرة الثانية في تشرين الثاني 2014 حتى حزيران 2017.
ولم يتمكن مجلس النواب أمس الاربعاء للمرة الثامنة والعشرين من انتخاب رئيس للجمهورية، فيما المنصب شاغر منذ ايار 2014، ما يشكل دليلا اضافيا على الشلل والانقسام السياسي في البلد حول كل القضايا من اصغرها الى اكبرها. وارجئت الجلسة التي لم يكتمل نصابها القانوني الى 30 ايلول.

Imagine a compromise is reached and a president is elected, then he or she should ensure that all Lebanese will have equal rights, disconnect religion from politics, corruption subject to criminal law, national educational system.Then a sustainable peace will be reached.If this is not accomplished, like in the past, the nation will be in hibernation waiting for the next earthquake.

The election of a new president should be yesterday before today. This time we must have a civilian president, enough of them generals, just a civilian, young, educated, zestful, honest, decent, professional, visionary and brave. Am I asking too much? hell no, we have such people and hell no, they don't have to be from our old feudal system either. We want no warlords like the Claoun or Geagea, just a young clean person. I am proposing to start with, either Ziad Baroud or Dimianos Kattar, two truly superb guys, but Taef too has to go, it is the plague that got us into all this mess, had we a strong president, then all these ridiculous problems wouldn't have existed either.

From independence till 1990 we had a strong Christian presidency with full unfettered powers yet he still could not handle the troubles in 1958, 1962, 1968, the Cairo agreement in 1969, could not finish up the PLO in 1973, could not even deploy the army in 1975 and on and on and on... Taef was badly implemented by the Syrian occupation and we continued the trend after they left, this BS consensual democracy must stop it's nowhere in the Constitution at least not the way it's being implemented now. Parliamentary majority should rule while the minority opposes, checks and balances and enough with a cabinet that represents everyone joke put in place by the Syrians to control the cabinet, our "leaders" then under duress acquiesce
