تقارير: 1000 لبناني سيطردون من الامارات

Read this story in English W460

Time to kick out the Gulf scum from this country!

Missing rudy 11:57 ,2012 حزيران 05

although in principal i agree, and I dont think he should go there and talk instead of take action, do you realize that they are our main source of income (tourism)? Also, there is a reason there are thousands of lebanese who work there. Its because we have a shit country with no jobs.
so what is a lebanese to do if the gulf closes down its doors for good on employment? what do you think all those graduates getting poorer by the second are going to do?

we're in a very tight spot here, and we're not in a position to make threats. BUT, this should be addressed when this crisis blows over, instead of ignoring it like the lebanese people usually do and go on with their lives caring about where they will meet up tonight

Thumb geha 12:11 ,2012 حزيران 05

it is so easy to launch threats and show indignation while the lebanese livelihood depends on jobs in the gulf.
to clarify: hey do not need us to run their business as they can get any other nationality to replace us.
now, we want to go there and work and nasrallah and his camp keep interfering in the gulf affairs, so what do we expect as a result of that?

I like the UAE and its leaders. They have managed to save our asses so many times over and over again. The helicopter that assisted our poor army defeat the terrorists at Nahr el Bared came from them. Our polluted and destroyed land is no good to them anymore. They re passed the whole Lebanon is the Switzerland/jewel of the Middle East bull crap. 90% of our families feed of the money that comes from the Gulf expats. We need to keep our mouths shut as the UAE does not tolerate major democratic principles. When in Rome... do as the Romans do!!!!

Whose National Pride F.T? That of M8 or M14? We Lebanese have little National Pride as we seem to follow other nations based on religion or financial interests. The golden rule is when you are in another country respect their values/rules/policies/etc. This is what we wanted from the PLO back in the 60s and 70s and instead they were instrumental in devastating Lebanon. If you want to criticize anyone there is plenty to criticize within Lebanon,

And what national pride are you talking about? haha yeh, our nationality is going to put food on our table right? lol if our own government does not care about us - what kind of pride do you speak of? Dude wake up!! WAKE UP!

First of all none of the March 14 supporters are Wahabis, in fact most of them, do not know what wahabism is. On the other hand, all March 8 supporters are aware of the Faqih rule and Nasrallah has been very eager to portray it as the most divine and best rule that can ever befall a human society. The same way your "wahabist" claim has ZERO justification, these guys were kicked out. It is unfortunate, but the UAE is probably not ready to witness a rift between its Shia and Sunni community. We can all agree, that the recent events show that Lebanese Shias and Lebanese Sunnis are witnessing a tense relationship. You might ask why Shias not Sunnis, very simply because any Shia could be part of Hezbollah, and has to support Hezbollah if he wants to go to heaven (isn't that what fatwa is all about?), whereas a Sunni in Lebanon has choices.

Default-user-icon karim_m2 (ضيف) 00:34 ,2012 حزيران 06

Where did I mention all Shias? The Shias that support Hezbollah (who are unfortunately the majority) are the ones I am talking about. My comment was in response to a comment removed, I do not blurt out non sense like that if it was not for a reason. We need more people like you, what matters is not who you support as long as you do not support March 8.

This is typical from Gulf countries. Someone, somewhere is not happy with Lebanese, specifically Shia Lebanese, for some reason, and decided that this particular bunch should go home to make some place for Philippinos (can't blame them...). So after much deliberation among themselves to make it look like this is a rational and collective decision, they put the decision into action.

To avoid legal troubles and accelerate the departure of these targeted persons - in the fear that some of them should try to make use of the few right they have (yes foreign workers have rights there - I know, it's surprising) they involved the police as described in the article.

Now you can't really trust the account of the "victims" either, they have a tendency, Lebanese people in particular, to exaggerate or even make up things. But what I described, is closer to the UAE reality then the image most people here have, I believe. How much of the commentators of this article have ever lived in the UAE?

There is a difference between supporting Hezbollah and carrying out "illegal security acts." What is wrong with supporting Hezbollah? Why should they be expelled for that? I am thinking this is just another case of the Gulf Sunni versus the Levant Shia. What both the Sunni and Shia have to do is realize that the foreign powers are playing with them like toys.

I think the problem is most ppl in the gulf ALREADY believe you are being ruled by an outside country. Not tryin to troll or get involved in ur internal politics but maybe a view from the gulf would help. Sure lebanese ppl are way ahead in lifestyle and community thats why we visit lebanon, but that does not mean you have a superior culture to ours which is what some see this as. Us coming from the desert and riding camels somehow you think this insults us, which it doesnt we are proud of our heritage. Anyways we seem to be getting the same tones from there as we were getting from the Shah in Iran(and Safavids before him) that gulf arabs eat "lizards" while irani dogs drink cold water. My point being, in order for meaningful dialogue these things shouldn't be lurking in peoples heads, which sadly they are at the moment.

I think the UAE authorities should be able to know how to run their own country without your advice. If they judge that it is in their country's interest to deport 1000 foreign residents no matter their nationality or religion, it is their full prerogative and entirely their business and no one else.

@ Flamethrower, Lebanese people , or most of them, do not have dreams. they long for power, appearances, money at all cost. I repeat , not all oof them , but a good 60%. I realise there are some good left, that have dreams and are going outside of Lebanon to make them come true. These are the only ones raising the lebanese identity elsewhere. In lebanon, it is but a jungle where the fittest survives and the weak perishes. It is sad but true. We have tried and friends as well to open businesses in Lebanon, but the concept of " 3al 7seb " for everything, is something that killed us and made us leave. We had to follow almost every customer to court in order to get what is rightfully ours. and most of the time without success. There is no law, no order , no nothing.

Nobody is more moral than the other, both are racist, arrogant and low. The gulf should cut off their aid to lebanon completly, kick out the lebanese and stop spending in lebanon and then we will see how the big headed lebanese will survive. Lebanon would fall apart in 2 seconds if it werent for the very gulf arabs you look down upon.

Yes we had a banking system which is one of the strongest in the world, for its secrecy but lets face it, it no switzerland anymore , whoever pays off the manager of a bank gets to know how much his fellowmen have money in their accounts and that is not a joke but the truth. Lebanese business around the world yes, they are successful but look in Africa, they dominate the continent with their businesses but in what ways? most african people will tell you they have treated them bad. Why do you think when there is an uprising in their countries the lebanese are the first ones kidnapped? I know because i know lots of people that work in several countries in Africa. Lebanese in canada have an awful reputation, they came after the war, blamed canadians for mistreating although they pushed deadlines for universities specially for lebanese, gave them help, a shelter, anything they needed. on top of that, many took advantage of the welfare system in canada as well as social aids and medical treatments without even living there.
