شكك البيت الابيض الاربعاء بالحكمة من وراء قيام مجلة شارلي ايبدو الفرنسية الساخرة بنشر رسوم كاريكاتورية للنبي محمد، مع تشديده على ان اي عمل لا يمكن ان يبرر العنف.
وقال جاي كارني المتحدث باسم البيت الابيض "لدينا اسئلة حول الحكمة من وراء نشر امور من هذا النوع" مشددا في الوقت نفسه على دعم واشنطن لحرية الصحافة ومحذرا من ان هذه الرسوم "لا تبرر باي شكل من الاشكال العنف".

Saw the film. those who made it should be thoroughly ashamed of them selves. It's taken the world thousands of yearsfor freedom of speech to be a right-guaranteed by law. Are some people so unintelligent not to realize that any freedom brings responsibility with it.

Freedom of speach is freedom of speach. You can't say people have the right to express themselves and then start adding exceptions. Next people won't be allowed to criticize the clergy or politicians. Welcome back to the dark ages!!
All religions (especially Christianity) have been criticized at one point or another. The way to deal with it is to state your counter-case and move on. That's it.
Religion is an opinion, people have the right to oppose it. Period.
