The root of the problem is that electricity is being underbilled. Even at 220LL per kw, it is too cheap. So EDL produces less electricity to loose less.
Generators' cost of electricity is about 800LL per KW. EDL should increase its rates to 800LL per KW, Electricity usage would be less and less rationing. those generator theives would get less money.

I never liked the idea of ships to begin with. Lebanon needs a long term plan for producing electricity that is not depended entirely on fossil fuel.WHat about issueing bonds to build new plants.0

There cannot and will not EVER be a viable power option whether it is Solar, Nuclear, Gas until EVERYONE pays their power bills.

No independant company would ever accept buying the Lebanese power sector in part or in whole because of this problem.

A long time ago the moon been discovered by the world and in Lebanon still having the electricity problem we are going to hold this problem for the whole life and even our kids will find it in their way too. Basil one question where is the goverment's money most of the Lebanese people paying the electricity bills so except south and dahyeh which is mostly Shia why they are exempt from paying aren't they lebanesse people and even they have 24 hours electricity access and the rest not so basil shut up and bring back the money that u have stolen from the goverment's

They are thinking about how to provide the best for their people and in Lebanon still thinking about how to pay the fuel expenses what's a joke.
