صحيفة "الوطن" السعودية تعتذر عن رسم كاريكاتوري للراعي: لم نتعمد الإساءة

إعتذرت صحيفة سعودية عن رسم اعتبر في لبنان مسيئا للبطريرك الماروني بشارة الراعي قائلة أنها لم تتعمد الإساءة لرمز الراعي الديني بل "وجهة نظر" عن زيارته سوريا.
ونشرت صحيفة "الوطن اون لاين" وبريشة راسم الكاريكاتير جهاد عورتاني عينه اعتذاراً من ضمن رسم بألوان العلم اللبناني، حمل اسم لبنان بالاحمر مع تصوير الحرف الاخير (النون) على انه هلال وتلوينه بالأخضر وفوقه اشارة صليب..
وذيل الرسم بعبارة "الرسم المنشور في عدد الثلاثاء الماضي ليس المقصود منه تعمُّد الاساءة للرمز الديني في لبنان البطريرك الماروني مار بشارة الراعي، بل كان يتضمّن وجهة نظر خاصة، لذا أعتذر عن اللبس الذي تَسبب في سوء الفهم".
وكان الكاريكاتير موضع الشكوى تناول زيارة البطريرك الراعي لسورية أثناء مشاركته في حفل تنصيب البطريرك يوحنا العاشر اليازجي، في موقف منتقد لها.
وجاء في الرسم صورة للبطريرك في ثلاثة مراحل، وقد تم تحوير القبعة الكاردينالية التي يعتمرها لتتحول إلى صاروخ، وكتابة الأحرف الأربعة الأولى من إسم البطريرك بخط عريض لتصبح "بشار" بدل "بشارة".
أمس الجمعة أعرب السفير السعودي في لبنان علي عواض عسيري عن "استيائه واستنكاره إزاء الرسم الكاريكاتوري للكاردينال مار بشاره بطرس الراعي"، مؤكداً "احترام المملكة العربية السعودية للراعي وتقديرها لجهوده في تمتين أواصر الوحدة الوطنية اللبنانية".
يشار الى أن المحامي اللبناني وديع عقل تقدم بشكوى لدى النيابة العامة التمييزية، وفق ما افادت تقارير صحافية، مع اتخاذ صفة الادعاء الشخصي، على الصحيفة بجريمة القدح والذم والافتراء والتعرض للشعائر الدينية واثارة النعرات المذهبية والعنصرية.
وزار الراعي سوريا الأحد الفائت وأعلن من هناك أن كل مطالب الإصلاح التي ينادي بها المعارضون "لا تساوي قطرة دم بريء تراق".

I don't see why they needed to apologize over a drawing. True, there are similarities between the name Bashar and Bshara. True, Rahi could be instrumentalized by the baathist regime and become a dangerous weapon that would go against the interests of syrian christians.

Shame on your level of discourse @FlameThrower, nothing justifies such vulgarity.
As to the apology, free speech is free speech and just as one does not advocate apologizing when Islam, or its symbols, is the subject of satire so it is that no apology should be required when Christianity, or its symbols, is the subject of similar satire.
Religion is not exempt from satire and free speech must NEVER be abridged when it is directed towards any religion. No exceptions.

Now can they do the same in case somebody does a stupid cartoon of the prophet mohamed? accept the apology and move on? or do they have to fix the issue in blood?

I lived in saudi Arabia and know for sure that the people over their are not religiously biased, although some of them are like it is the case everywhere in the world. The Christian lebanese, of whom I am one, are well received in Saudi Arabia. That's why I was amazed at the drawing which shows Al Rai with horns made of weaponry. Saudi arabia is decent country. nevertheless, I applaud the new drawing which shows the cross and the crest hagging each other. Whether anyone wants it or not, Lebanon could not survice with both religions sharing everything together.

Iran does not make caricatures but does make movies moking Jesus Christ.
I am sure you remember the ones that were passing on El manar and were removed after many protests.
I am sure you also remember the attack on the Danish embassy but you forget some other attacks in Ashrafieh following Kalam El Nass.
