أفادت معلومات صحافية أن رئيس الحكومة المكلف تمام سلام حسم أمره بعدم الترشح للانتخابات وذلك لالتزامه تأليف الحكومة".

وأشارت صحيفة "النهار"، الثلاثاء، الى ان "سلام حسم أمره بعدم الترشح للانتخابات ضمن المهلة التي انتهت الاثنين انطلاقا من التزامه تأليف حكومة تشرف على اجراء الانتخابات".

وأضافت "النهار" إزاء المعطيات المتوافرة عن موقف سلام ان "القرار الذي سيتخذه مجلس النواب بعد غد الخميس سواء أكان تمديدا تقنيا أم لفترة اطول تصل الى سنة ونصف سنة، فان سلام سيكون هو المكلف تأليف الحكومة في كلا الحالين"، مردفة "لذلك تتجه الانظار الى مرحلة ما بعد الجلسة النيابية العامة لتبدأ عملية تأليف حكومة تنطلق من مبادئ لم تتغيّر عند سلام وهي اعتماد صيغة الثلاث ثمانات من غير ان يكون هناك ثلث معطّل لأي فريق وتوزع الحقائب مداورة".

ولفتت مصادر مواكبة لعملية التأليف الى ان "سلام مستعد لمواجهة التعقيدات التي قد تعترضه ضمن مروحة خيارات واسعة قد يلجأ الى احداها على قاعدة اطلاق التأليف بالتشاور مع رئيس الجمهورية ميشال سليمان".

وكانت قد راجعت الحركة في دارة المصيطبة من أجل تشكيل الحكومة إزاء التطورات والتداعيات على الساحة الداخلية من خلال عدم التوصل الى قانون انتخابات توافقي، وتدخل "حزب الله" بالمعارك في سوريا.

يُذكر ان سلام يسعى الى ان تكون الحكومة المقبلة، "حكومة مصلحة وطنية"، في حين تطالب قوى 14 آذار بحكومة حيادية تريد 8 آذار حكومة سياسية وقال رئيس "الحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي" جنبلاط أنه لن يصوت على حكومة من لون واحد".

كما ان سلام، يرفض مطلب اي فريق بالثلث المعطل مشدداً على انه هو "الضامن" الوحيد، وانه سيقدم استقالته في حال استقالة اي فريق من الافرقاء من الحكومة العتيدة.

Phoenix, while I agree with some of your statements, I think you're over-estimating the ease with which a government can be formed. I think Salam wants to ease the tension in the country, and being a centrist he is well positioned to do so, as opposed to a Mikati or a Rifi/Hariri, considered to be confrontational by M14 and M8 respectively. The problem is, there were clear hints in Nasrallah's recent speeches that he will not allow the unilateral formation of a government. While Nasrallah should not have the authority to allow or not allow this or that government, he effectively does have this authority by virtue of his weapons. Had Salam unilaterally formed a government, it would have caused a reaction across Lebanon from M8 and Syrian sympathizers that would make the fighting in Tripoli look like a piece of cake. Unfortunately the country is held hostage by HA's weapons, and the hostage taker is threatening to kill the hostages if his demands are not met. What do you do?
