المطارنة الموارنة يدينون الكيميائي بسوريا ويحذرون من تداعيات الحرب المفترضة

دان المطارنة الموارنة استعمال الاسلحة الكيميائية في سوريا، داعين في الوقت عينه الدول التي تنادي بتوجيه ضربة عسكرية الى سوريا، بأن يلجأوا الى السبل السلمية والدبلوماسية لحل الازمة.
واثر اجتماعهم الدوري الشهري، الذي عقد الاربعاء في الصرح البطريركي في الديمان، أصد الآباء بياناً، دعوا فيه إلى "وعي التداعيات الوخيمة التي قد تترتب من جراء الحرب".
وتوجهوا الى السياسيين داعين اياهم للتعالي عن "المصالح الفردية والصغيرة وتشكيل حكومة قادرة على مواجهة الاخطار".
ودانوا استخدام السلاح الكيميائي في سوريا، معتبرين ان "الحرب الجارية في سوريا تأخذ منحى خطيراً بعد الحديث عن استعمال الكيميائي وضربة محتملة ضد سوريا".
ودعوا إلى "اعتماد الحوار والتواصل لتوطيد السلام العادل والشامل بعيدا عن لغة السلاح والحرب".
الى ذلك، لفت الى أن "ما يجري في المنطقة من حروب واضطرابات وما يجري في لبنان من شلل اقتصادي قد اثر على الحركة الاقتصادية".
يُشار الى أن واشنطن تحمل النظام السوري مسؤولية الهجوم الكيميائي في ريف دمشق في 21 اب الذي خلف مئات القتلى، وفي حين يدرس الرئيس الاميركي باراك اوباما توجيه ضربة الى سوريا، فهو يبحث عن دعم دولي من أجل المضي في الهجوم.

I know the Syrian war took a large toll on human life However, you can NOT stop people from killing themselves. The culture fighting Assad proven the love for death. People who find destiny in death, can Not be stopped. This is why for the last 50 years we have leaders, good leaders, that sometimes we did not appreciate, their intentions was to eliminate the death-loving culture. God bless!

Dear men of God: I thank you for your outrage and condemnation on Syria's use of chemical weapons and encourage that we all pray to God for our safety and peace of mind. Also that this type of mayhem on such a large scale does not happen again. But please stay out of politics and matters of war. Leave the business of fighting a war to those whose business is to fight wars and/or punish criminals to take impunity out of the equation. Allow the country to make secular decisions and worship of God and prayers in the privacy of our homes and churches.

No. Getting rid of them all and replace the Executive Office, Parliament and civil institutions with seculars and/or moderates who do not and will not allow foreign and/or religious interests undermine their civil duty to the "Wattan". Lebanon needs a fresh start. Also, people like me have no respect or tolerance towards Saudi style Islamists or Muslim Bros. who call me and you "infidel", and we need to educate all moderates to challenge and engage these oppressors. I know it is hard to do, but we need to plant the seeds.
