Marada Movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh and Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun held a reconciliation meeting recently after weeks of boycott between the two March 8 alliance officials.

According to al-Akhbar newspaper published on Monday, the reconciliation meeting was held at the residence of Shamel Roukoz, the head of the Army Commando Unit and Aoun's son-in-law.

The meeting was held in presence of Aoun's caretaker Energy Minister Jebran Bassil, Franjieh's son Tony and former Minister Youssef Saadeh.

The newspaper previously reported that the dispute between Aoun and Franjieh is the FPM leader's failure to include the Marada leader in most of the decisions and stances.

The matter prompted Franjieh to boycott Aoun.

Franjieh also rejects the March 8 coalition's failure to prepare for the upcoming stages locally.

However, he stressed that his dispute is with the coalition's alliance not with a particular side.

Even Franjieh boycotts the poor old pajama general... it was all a misunderstanding, Franjieh was upset about getting a smaller stipend than Aoun was getting from Assad. Son-in-laws #1 & #2 explained to the Marada leader that the payoffs are based on parliamentary weight.

"reconciliations" sure, sure... M8 is a 2 bit flee circus and Aoun is the lead clown, none of the other block leaders have any respect for him. Besides I am not foaming, Aoun is comic relief.

Mr _,,-.._-->Flamethrower._^>/=.._- speaking of foaming, is there any word on the immanent mass desertions from the American military forces :-)

People such as Mr Aoun an Mr Franjieh are only christians on their ikhraj aid. There's nothing christian in their behaviors and actions. they can die already, it would be a step towards peace in Lebanon.

u call them leaders? they are no leader, half of them take their orders from Damascus!

Missing peace 21 October 2013, 16:36

great FT... but there was no mustaqbal during the syrian period... those taking orders from syria were both from the present M8 and M14..

so please, don't forget that your beloved ones also took orders from syria... and like aoun said: "they were obliged to otherwise they would have been killed" but you of course as a patriot you are would have chosen to be killed right? LOL

how dishonest you are and how you love to twist facts to suit your petty propaganda....

at least frangié always said he supported the assads and their regime, he deserves respect for he is constant in his views even if i cannot stand the guy, unlike the opportunist orange puppet who supports whoever suits his policies of the moment...

Frangieh is in the list of top 10 lebanese scum. Why Aoun likes him, I wonder.

Missing peace 21 October 2013, 17:46

and isn't it ironic that a man claiming he is against tribe behavior-like parties, put all his family in key posts? LOL

Nobody is understanding the game, u all should see a bit further than just insulting and arguing about nothingness... Aoun has never included frangieh in his equations and decisions, so Frangieh boycotted him, because he is a leader nonetheless and doesnt accept that. But what happened for Aoun to invite Frangieh back again and hear what he thinks about all of the situation? my opinion is that Frangieh will present himself as a candidate for presidency. everything points in this direction : Bachar is still here and is not loosing ground, he is Syria's best ally in Lebanon and is not a fanatic freak, although he is pro-syrian frangieh has never accepted syrian presence ( military) in zgharta this is a fact and they were never there. Although im not very keen on frangieh , he will be chosen because most of christians, like FPM supporters and Kataeb will vote for him if he decides to run. Lebanese forces wont but doesnt matter they do not represent a big parliamentary vote
