Officials: 'No Room for Diplomacy,' Hizbullah Engaged in 'Open-Ended War'إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية
Hizbullah officials have shrugged off accusations made by March 14 alliance officials against Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah that his latest speech was tantamount to the announcement of war.
In remarks to the Kuwaiti al-Rai newspaper published on Sunday, the officials, who were not identified said: “He hasn't announced war. He is already fighting.”
“We are in an open-ended war that has no room for diplomacy,” the officials said.
“Maybe later we will be (using) the diplomacy of force,” they warned.
Nasrallah criticized on Friday accusations made by March 14 officials against some Shiites in Lebanon of seeking to eliminate other powers in Lebanon.
He warned: “Such a proclamation is a declaration of war.”
But several members of the alliance snapped back at him in remarks to local TV and radio stations on Saturday, saying Hizbullah's arms were part of a big plot against Lebanon.
They said Nasrallah was threatening to resort to his party's weapons in his dispute with the alliance.
The Hizbullah officials reiterated in their remarks to al-Rai that any attempt to form a fait accompli government would bring an end to the unity of Lebanon’s state institutions.
The ministers representing the Hizbullah-led March 8 alliance will not hand over their portfolios to their successors if such a cabinet was formed, they said.
The warning came amid reports that President Michel Suleiman and Premier-designate Tammam Salam would form a de facto government to avoid having a vacuum during the presidential elections next year.
Suleiman's term ends in May 2014.
we are not afraid of all these threats.
we are Lebanese, i.e. born free, and we will remain free.
you can threaten us as much as you want but you will never subdue us.
this is our country and we will kick you out.
Indeed ... cast your fate to the false prophets of death and destruction M14 who threaten elimination of HA then say it is HA who threatens them.
M14 cast the first stone and many thereafter and their betrayal to governance and to Lebanon has been duly noted for future of justice in the turmoil to come.
kuwaiti newspaper = trash and invented quote attributed to anonymous sources
“Maybe later we will be (using) the diplomacy of force,”
You have already used it. This is the logic of thugs and you are an expert at it. The day this criminal is dead is the day when the sun finally shines on Lebanon. He nurtured a culture of hate and death that overshadowed and polluted everything good in lebanese life.
we all agree you are the only grown up on this site.
stop being obsessed with me ft: you see me only? there is medication for that!
I will look forward to the day fighting starts, and you big mouthed birds will fly around screaming on Naharnet for it all to stop, just like you did back in 2008. Just wait and see cowards
ft there is medication for that, ask dr. gehaha3 for some captagons :)
Of course Nasrallah is already at war and for the second time in a few years without Lebanon's consent. I just pray that next time the attackees retaliate, they'll only target M8ers and their supporters. M14ers and neutral people are hostages as well. If israel wants to help lebanon, it has to do so now so spread the terrorist militia thin on two fronts so they get erradicated for good. just spare our national infrastructure, bomb instead their illegal parallel networks. it would be a beautiful xmas present. we will know how to thank you, we will give you Chebaa in return! lol
salut chouchou! ;-)
Cheering for the destruction of Lebanon ice-man? Anyone who thinks this will be a limited war is sadly mistaken. We have seen these planned wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria and they are consumed with violence, economic crash and mayhem.
Hey mckinl when is the horde of Israeli capitalist going to invade Lebanon?
Hizbullah's threats and arrogance are nothing new. The difference is that they now flaunt their true allegiance to Iran & Assad and their disregard for Lebanese consensus.
HA is a shiite sectarian party. It defends Shiites and the Iranian interests. It does not represent me nor does it represent 16 other sects in Lebanon. Take your propaganda elsewhere.
hizbuahaitan does not defend Shiites, rather it has brought death and destruction to them.
Shia party yes, but not sectarian! Allah Yihmeek Ya Rabbbbb.
HA doesn't defend shias, just use them for iranian interests...
Anyone who threatens Lebanese is actually a coward.
our reply to such thugs: do not teat us.
no we are all reacting to what nasrallah said. if you did not hear his latest outburst, then check it out. this is what he said.
threats and threats and threats.
Hizbullah is fighting in Syria to keep their partner Assad in power, so that the Iranian arms can keep coming in. Otherwise Hizbullah will lose its strangle hold on Lebanon.
sure they have rockets and so forth, but to be able to take over the country.... no way jose :) think again.
I dont think this article amounts to much. It is propaganda. Kuwait, like Saudi has vested interest to have an all out war against HA.
Khalijees are so angry that their medieval proxies in syria are loosing, and that HA is winning, that the long standing goodwill of Khalij towards lebanon is gone. Now their agenda is to try to increase the discord between M8 and M14.
When Assad tried to create a rift between M8 and M14, it succeeded because HA has a foreign agenda. Now that Khalijees want to do that, mustakbal will probably follow. However here christian parties, who are the only truly lebanese parties, should hold the country together and say enough.
aladin. sorry to break this to you:
1- HA's agenda is definitely Iranian - no debate about that.
2- Mustakbal's agenda which was pro lebanese traditionally, is becoming less so. Mustakbal got so fedup with HA and Assad, that they started seeking foreign protection in the gulf. And it happens that the leader of KSA today is not benevolent king abdallah, but cunning Bandar, whose prime objective is the syrian war, before lebanon stability
FPM, Lebanese forces and especially Kataeb are the only ones who dont have a foreign backer. wether u like it or not. nokta 3al satr.
PSP also by the way.
you are right lebnanon first but you cannot reproach mustaqbal from seeking foreign help... it is logic . aoun seeked the help of the USA before he came back to lebanon! it is the logic of political games every party does.
why would one reproach mustaqbal of doing this while accepting hezbollah to be the arm of iran?
people need to be logic and stop the double standards! if it is ok for one then it is ok for all....
Peace. I am not blaming mustakbal. I think that they are by far the most moderate sunni party in the arab world. I just am making a point that christian parties should quit squabbling and group the country.
No doubt the discovery of natural gas in the eastern Mediterranean basin may yet prove beneficial to the Lebanese and Israeli economies. But it will also act as a source of tension that — if matters are not properly handled — might lead to the outbreak of a new war. This wealth in and of itself has stoked ambitions and whetted appetites even in relatively peaceful times. How much more destabilizing will they prove against the backdrop of a conflict such as the one between Hezbollah and Israel? That conflict has already dragged Lebanon into war twice in the past decade. The current conflict between the two countries centering on the demarcation of their maritime borders must find a diplomatic solution in the corridors of the UN and at US prompting, owing to the role of mediator that the United States is capable of playing — particularly with Israel.
but the revolution started because sunnis were discrimnated by bashar and they are getting poorer because of the measures your idol took ... so yes the revolution is ALSO about freedom and democracy and stopping a few alawis to have ALL the privileges... but of course you will not approve of this, bad for your propaganda...
Hizbullah is not a party, it is an Iranian militia and Nasrallah had best stay hiding in his rat hole unless he wants to end up on the dinner table of the Israeli takfiri terrorist cannibals.
Error they are pretty high on the boring scale but no-eone is a bigger bore then the_snore.
he/she(male) does speak Frensh.
lebpatriot888 there is no getting around it Hizbullah are Iran's paid thugs… what is this obsession you have with cannibals, did you have a bad experience on a dinner date?
The arrogance of this devilish party and that of its followers have reached unprecedented levels. A War must take place either internally or externally, preferabbly concurrently to eradicate them. Only this time the majority of the Lebanese will take comfort in their complete annihilation. Their gangster leader thinks he owns Lebanon simply coz he has weapons. I am one of those pessimists when it comes to HA. They only understand brute force.
I'm deeply saddened/disgusted.
With all the respect u ALL should feel ashamed of urselves.
U have led our country to where it stands by voting for ALL the politicians, then by supporting them BLINDLY
U don't have anything else to do rather than accusing each other?
Why don't U come with solutions rather than threats & accusations?
Why have you forgotten about ur basic rights?
U're ready to live with no electricity or water,U're ready to pay the highest prices compared to ur salaries,U're ready to stay hours in traffic,U're ready to see ur country fall into pieces and STILL U're so blinded by confronting each other with senseless & nonconstructive accusations.
Where is Lebanon
Where r its REAL & loyal people that care about this country
Why should the WHOLE economic/social system b paralyzed?
Why as individuals we excel in the whole world & promote successfully our beautiful country but put together we always seek to undermine/accuse the other?
Plz tell me why
I don't know which ones are worse, Israel or these betraying takfiri supporting M14 clowns at home, we should just clean our own house and then deal with Israel later, that will be much easier. Cut off the head of the snake =)
agreed, but good luck in finding Hassassin Nasrallah. that snake is really deep underground.
Idiots ... the whole lot of you ...
Clean the house of all M14 and M8 leaders then Lebanon might emerge from the ruins again. With your snake and the other snakes in town we will just keep on getting bitten and will soon die.
Start thinking and working for Lebanon rather than your M 8 & M14 mafias
Anyone who uses weapons to fight another fellow lebanese is the one with no guts. guts is being able to get what you want through diplomacy and not with a gun on the negotiating table. have we lebanese not learnt anything! Are you proud of your profile picture @mystic, do you feel you're more of a man which such a picture. we all need to grown up (yes including myself for wasting my time replying to such BS)
Someone please explain to me why hizbollah are in syria for? Syria is not lebanon isn't hizbollah a so called lebanese resistance? Who do they resist?and what do they resist? The ones who gained the most from the death of rafik hariri and from the so called war of 2006 were hizbollah it is plain for all to see that they are trying to run the country with out democracy, haven't people noticed that lebanon can not form a working government without hizbollah threatening every aspect of lebanese freedom and freedom will conquer all that threaten her, the lebanese were born free !
The title says it all... "No room for diplomacy".
Hezbollah is in an open ended war to salvage Bashars regime (incapable of doing it on his own) and take over Lebanon.
Hebollah is stalling our future with fake diversions (electoral deadlocks, virtual threats, opening files they know we cannot tackle like the oil file). All in a bid to turn our attention away from their total dismantling of the Lebanese state and creation of vaccum.
They cannot be clearer : no room for democracy... Buzz off, we rule u now! If u dont like it, fight us (you and whose army ??? They laugh).
I would like to thank all the Lebanese sheep, ft, mowaten, southern, Hezbollah ghannam and FPM blind fools for selling our country to Iran...
God save Lebanon and crush the people who abuse of his name to provide fake legitimacy to their party and crimes... Hezbollah, your days are counted and Hassan will be hanged for his arrogance and crimes!
it depends on the electoral law agreed upon by all... but when M8 loses they say they are the true representatives! LOL
I very much believe that everyone has a right to opinion in light of actions and words undertaken by people of such influence as Sayed Hassan. But I also believe that such positions as those of the latest ones by Sayed Hassan will only go further from the rest if not the majority of the Lebanese people. Already Hezbollah is badly isolated as things are, and here I believe that such fiery speeches from a top person as Sayed Hassan is simply an attempt for him to hide the fact that his militia is now thinly spread and in a precarious situation. Furthermore it will without doubt put him and Hezbollah in an ever more difficult predicament with those who have a profound enmity with Hezbollah and its traditional allies. There is now persistent word that 2014 will be a decisive year for Lebanon whereas it concerns Hezbollah, and so far nothing is good for Hezbollah's future.
