An Israeli unit carried out on Monday some road work near the southern town of Rmeish, reported the National News Agency.

It said that the unit, comprised of a bulldozer, Merkava tank, and a number of soldiers, created a makeshift road in the Khillet al-Qatmoun area near the Rmeish border town.

The operation took place within the technical fence along the border, as well as within Lebanese territory.

The Lebanese army and United National Interim Force in Lebanon closely monitored the Israeli actions.

Tensions were recently high along the Lebanese-Israeli border after an Israeli soldier was shot and killed by a Lebanese soldier on December 15.

The Lebanese army announced that the soldier had acted on his own.

It marked the first time in three years that an Israeli soldier was killed in a cross-border shooting.

I have question, doesn't anyone hold the deed of the land being bulldozerred? Don't they have a say on the matter?

Exactly, who knowa since there wasn't a border prior to 1948 if not even later. The owners should manifest and take it to the unfil so they can plow their land or get a generous compensation.

Well well, Mr. Mansour will have another reason to complain about border infactions to the UN.
