One person has been abducted in Bekaa town of Hortaala after he had been involved in a dispute over dealing with drugs, the state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday.

"Armed men riding two four-wheel drives have kidnapped Lebanese national Khaled al-Nashar in Hortaala,” the NNA said.

It revealed that the abduction was related to a feud over dealing with illegal substance.

Al-Nashar hails from the North but is a resident of Hortaala as he is married to a woman of the town's al-Masri family, noted the same source.

Army troops and security forces have been implementing for the past month a security plan adopted by the cabinet to restore stability and end the state of chaos in the North and the Bekaa.

Many fugitives have since been arrested in both regions and troops continue searching for outlaws, among whom there are drug dealers with arrest warrants against them in Bekaa town of Brital and in Hortaala.
