إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Hizbullah has informed Saudi Arabia that its candidate for the presidency is Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Friday.

The daily said that Riyadh has sent several messages to the party asking it whether it wanted the elections to be held anytime soon or whether it preferred vacuum.

It also asked Hizbullah about the name of a consensus candidate whom it sees as most suitable to reach Baabda Palace, al-Akhbar said.

The party replied to the messages that it was keen that the elections take place “as soon as possible” and that its candidate is Aoun, it added.

According to the report, Hizbullah stressed that Aoun is capable of being a consensus candidate.

It also asked the envoys who delivered the messages whether Riyadh was preparing to carry out an initiative to resolve the deadlock. But the Saudi officials denied making such a move.

"The daily said that Riyadh has sent several messages to the party asking it whether it wanted the elections to be held anytime soon or whether it preferred vacuum."

So the barbaric, undemocratic, founder of modern-day terrorism is not only interfering in local Lebanese affairs, but is also preaching to Lebanon how to run its democracy? What business is it of the kingdom of terrorism who the Lebanese want for the Presidency?

Karim you are correct we want a made in lebanon president without any external interference. Interesting to note that Hezbo only answers to external parties yet they have obstructed the States authority. Isn't this the same request everyone has been placing in front of them for some time now? Have they only just reached agreement on this?? Or given their lack of motivation to electing the highest Christian seat, was their hand forced into accepting aoun by an external party given their distaste in supporting him earlier? Interesting I think. Even more interesting will be aoun's program and his implementation of his MOU. They are clearly setting him up for failure

How can Aoun be a consensual candidate when at least half of the Christians despise him.

Before FT starts shouting like a little angry girl, let me explain :

A large chunk of the christian population do not want to hear about AOUN / GEAGEA anymore. They support neither.

The rest of the christian idiots support either one or the other.

This means that neither Aoun nor Geagea enjoy a majority of christian support so there is no way either can be a consensual candidate.

Forget it ! There is no way in hell Aoun will become president. And as FT puts it : He's not even a candidate :)

Thumb FlameCatcher 09 May 2014, 18:00

@Crusher : you know how many people voted in the last elections ?

You know how many christians didn't vote ?

55% of the registered voters voted. Even if half of those voted Aoun. How much support does he really have ? Less than 27.5% of christian support !

Do you know what the 45% who didn't vote are saying to Aoun and Geagea ? F-OFF !

Don't try to play statistics with me as I can expose your lies and propaganda !

Aoun is worth no more than crap and Geagea all the same.

Snap out of the illusion and stick to supporting Kezbollah... you're better at it !

Hizbullah has informed Saudi Arabia that its candidate for the presidency is Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun

that's very cool of Hezbollah, maybe now they should inform the Lebanese people of that fact as well, they are still to tell us who their candidate is.
Nevertheless as usual I give Al-Akhbar an A+ for creative writing and imagination.

Well finally, the cat is now out of the bag. OK, Geagea has been shown not being able to be voted, but now that the general has dropped the curtain down, he too will share the same fate as Hakim. The realities of these two men is that both do not appeal anymore to most Lebanese and it may also drop another curtain down too, that either M do not enjoy that kind of popularity they had hitherto. Maybe the time has come to move forward without either M8 or M14, I'd go for L, as in Lebanon, or Lubnen wou bass.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 09 May 2014, 16:35

I agree. I think HA would far more likely prefer to have frangie there as he is personal pet of ASSad.

Thumb -phoenix1 09 May 2014, 17:21

Leb, Frangieh is the most favorite pet indeed, even him said it before. But let's hope that pets will no longer see this seat, never.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 09 May 2014, 20:07

I hope so too. quite frankly I believe the only made in Lebanon president with any hope of winning the seat is the vacuum.

Thumb Elemental 09 May 2014, 20:56

Iranian revolutionary guards members to came through the South, learned the dialect and began imposing on the Shia of Lebanon....yes HA are foreign...stop the Taqiya.

Thumb Elemental 09 May 2014, 20:57

Lebanon's for the LEBANESE, not foreign states.

An interesting dialogue is value comment. I feel that it is best to write extra on this subject, it won't be a taboo subject but generally persons are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers kbebdfdddeed
