Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hit out against the Islamic State group Wednesday as a "dangerous phenomenon," but warned it could not be defeated by air strikes.
Accusing other nations of having created "a Frankenstein that has come to haunt its creators," Zarif said at a Washington think-tank that the Islamic militants cannot be "eradicated through aerial bombardments," nor can they be contained.
Speaking at the Council for Foreign Relations, Zarif again expressed regret that Iran had not been invited to Paris talks to discuss the threat of the Islamic State organization, saying Tehran can play a central role in dealing with the group.
But he dismissed as a "conspiracy theory" U.S. accusations that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had turned a blind eye to the group in order to complicate the fight of the moderate Syrian rebels battling to oust his regime.
And Zarif said that Iran did not back foreign military adventures into the region, unless they were invited in by the government.

i think you should go back to bed. its to early for you. you are not thinking strait

Ok, let's buy into Zarif's argument for the sake of discussion. Since air power alone can not defeat ISIS, how about you send your soldiers into battle with them. Talk is cheap, at least the US is actually doing something using its own manpower and equipment, how about you do the same?

Iran already played a major role in creating and exporting its sick and twisted ideology that resulted in Shiite death squads killing Sunnis in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and most recently, Yemen. The fanatical Irani government should improve its treatment of its own Ahwaz Arab minority population and Sunnis before it dares to talk about any sort of extremism...the worst which is their own creation; Welayat Al Faqih.
Strip the a3jam of their citizenship and deport them back to where they belong...they can choose anywhere to be dropped off in Iran!

IS can even less be defeated by so much hot air, assad jail releases, malikis runaway army or tired divine victory speeches, this is working IS is retreating everywhere in Iraq. They are hitting them from the air while the Iraqis and Syrians whilling to fight are actually fighting.
