Abou Faour Says Airport Storage Areas are 'Execution Chambers'

Health Minister Wael Abou Faour described on Tuesday food storage areas at the Rafik Hariri International Airport as a “barn” and “death chambers for the citizens' health.”
“You feel you are entering a dump when you go into the depots,” he said during a joint press conference with Public Works and Transport Minister Ghazi Zoaiter.
“The fish, meat, medicine and garbage are placed side-by-side inside the shipping containers at the airport. Some products have been expired since 1995,” he said.
The minister wondered how the workers were able to function under such conditions, saying he suffered from a severe headache because of the bed smell.
“This is a barn and not a storage area,” he said.
“The more we submerge into the food safety file, the more we realize we are living on a pile of corruption,” Abou Faour told reporters.
Zoaiter also described the situation as “disgusting,” saying it “poses a danger on the lives of humans.”
The two ministers held the conference after they toured the airport's warehouses.
Abou Faour has been launching a campaign against institutions that have violated food safety standards.
His campaign has so far led to the closure of slaughterhouses, restaurants, dairy factories and other institutions.
In another related development, Agriculture Minister Akram Shehayyeb said the authorities would ban the export of any product that has violated safety standards.
“We will remain in our mission. The inspection will not stop,” he said in a press conference.
G.K.

like anything else managed by hizbushaitan/amal, it becomes like a barn.
The word is still ringing in my ear after he sow my name and from where I am comming, ♡ Ya Ali...... I Fatshouuuuuu.... as ifi wad a criminal, my laptop camera thooth paste etc etc all abused for no reason. Believe me, I had so many links outdide the airport which means My Clan are either silly or they can't do anything and have nooo say with these people.
the reason this country isn't progressing is because of people like you. instead of really looking at the problem and trying to fix it, you immediately make up accusations that suit your hateful agenda.
Landing or taking off at this airport with khameni and hassan waving good byes from all the illegal buidlings is an disney like experience out of this world
It just shows how low our standards have fallen. There was a time when Beirut airport could be compared to any other international one with good repute, today even the worst third world airports fare better. The truth is this: when those who live in a state of KARKABEH start handling the sensitive affairs of the state, then KARKABEH will be everywhere. Let no one barge in to defend an indefensible situation, archives are available galore in as far as this is concerned. Dig a little and Masalan see the uncanny hands of Berri Baba and his mafiosi.
Even porters at the airport are handpicked by Berri and his mafia.
Let him do a barmet mustashfayet (review of Hospitals). He still has a lot to see.
Wow, thoroughly impressed with the continous investigations into all this. no matter who people blame or are skeptical about this entire thing. the outcome is only positive on the long run. I don't care who manages what and which political party is responsible for the mess. the best thing is the filth is being uncovered and someone is actually doing something about it. WE AS CONSUMERS also have a role to play by asking restaurants, butchers, farmers, about their hygiene, chemical use, product quality (especially product return POLICIES) and rooting for them or holding them accountable with our PURCHASING POWER.
