Aoun Calls on Govt. to 'Liberate' Arsal Outskirts from Extremists

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun lamented on Sunday the government's inaction regarding the rising threat of extremism on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal.
He warned: “We call on the state to liberate the outskirts from the clutches of extremists.”
He made his remarks during a speech before his supporters in the eastern city of Zahle.
The lawmaker stressed the need to differentiate between the actual town of Arsal and its outskirts.
“The large area occupied by the gunmen in the outskirts poses a threat to Lebanon,” Aoun added.
“The region could be used as a launching point for attacks,” he warned.
Hizbullah, backed by Syrian forces, has recently controlled strategic areas in Qalamoun that abuts Lebanon's eastern border, amid continuing clashes in the region.
Hizbullah cites fear of militants from the Islamic State group and al-Qaida-affiliated al-Nusra Front sweeping through Lebanese Shiite and Christian border villages as one of the main reasons for its involvement in Syria.
Some observers however fear the Qalamoun offensive could prompt Islamist militants to launch attacks in Shiite areas of Lebanon itself, including Beirut's southern suburbs.
Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had last week hinted that his group would try and eliminate the militants of the IS and al-Nusra from Arsal's outskirts if the Lebanese state failed to do so.

Call all you like Hizbollah made its bed now it can sleep in it , Lebanon had no business in Syria when Hizbollah decided to get involved against the warnings given to it ,they ignored , ( Daesh,Isis ) or whatever you like to call them look like a formidable force which the U.S. and its allies are finding very hard to battle so what chance will the Lebanese army have . God help Lebanon from the disaster that's coming its way .

the1dementia, I am alone. I support an independent Lebanon with a preserved Christian presence free from foreign influence. When I say influence I mean control. I would rather unite Geagea and Aoun then focus on KSA vs Iran. But unfortunately nobody is with me. I am against Israel, Iran, KSA and Syria intelligence and military in Lebanon. I am don't have a party. I support implementation of all UN resolutions.

The "O" man is still out there shilling for his paymaster Hezbollah. HA sings the same song. It wants the Army to compromise itself by coordinating with Hezbollah and the Syrian Regime Forces in Arsel. By so doing, the intention, and it is not hidden, is that the soldiers and officers who serve in the Lebanese Army will leave it rather than fight with a force that has become an "auxillary" to the Shia Militia. They want the Lebanese Army to become like the Iraqi Army, to split and run from the common foe so that the Shia militants can come and fill the void. In making this argument especially in Zahle, Aoun shows himself to be the traitor that he is to Lebanon.
