Fabregas Fit for Spanish League Return
Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas is fit to return to Spanish league action on Saturday after being sidelined for three weeks by a hamstring injury, the club said.
"Cesc Fabregas is fit again. On Friday he was given the medical all-clear," the Spanish and European champions said in an online statement.
"The midfielder has missed three games through injury, but will be OK for Saturday" and "could play" then when Barcelona host Seville in the league, it said.
Fabregas delighted Barcelona fans by returning to his boyhood team from Arsenal in August.
After picking up the injury in training on October 1 Fabregas missed two league matches and a Champions League clash with Czech side Plzen, plus two internationals for Spain against Scotland and the Czech Republic.
"Cesc was on great form before getting injured, with five goals in nine games, and was offering certain midfield options that were unavailable to the manager before," the club said.
Defender Gerard Pique, forward Alexis Sanchez and midfielder Ibrahim Afellay remain injured.
Barcelona lead the Spanish league table with 17 points, one point ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid and level with surprise contenders Levante.
