Judge Demands Death Penalty for Tareq Yatim
Beirut Examining Magistrate George Rizk demanded on Thursday a death penalty against Tareq Yatim for stabbing and killing a man, and a jail sentence against Lina Haidar for helping the fugitive.
An arrest warrant was issued in July against Yatim for stabbing to death George al-Rif over a traffic dispute, in a case that shocked the country after a graphic video of the incident went viral on social media.
Haidar was detained then and interrogated.
Yatim had dealt al-Rif several stabs in Beirut's neighborhood of Ashrafieh after a long car chase that started on the airport road after the two got into a right of way dispute.
Some media reports said Yatim was under the influence of drugs when he committed the crime.
According to reports, the man has a long criminal record.

Good news!
I hope they execute the sentence, and that for once, we get rid of some scum!
The streets will be safer without animals like this one!
Good news for this murderous scum . Hope he dies very slowly
I think it is outrageous to still have a death Penalty in 2015. Everyone deserve a chance for redemption. I understand what he is done is unforgivable, which a life time sentence would suffice "Why would Justice kill a man for killing a man", what is the message for society? I think a stronger message and the hardest solution, would be to help killers/criminals to change to responsible citizen, by giving them accurate education/ social responsibility.
@giveit
idiot
who cares about his political affiliations! An animal is an animal!
@Paul,
I fully agree with you for human kind. ie I don't mind death penalty if someone has no human value not only in Lebanon but in all the world. With the leniency of the law killing becomes as easy as drinking or eating.
