Derbas to Aoun: I am not the Syrian Ambassador
Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbas snapped back at Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun, who has accused him of turning a blind eye to alleged efforts aimed at naturalizing Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
“My answer (to Aoun) is simple … I am not the Syrian ambassador,” Derbas told An Nahar newspaper published on Wednesday.
“We hope that all Syrian refugees would register their children at the Syrian embassy,” he said. “I cannot force them or force the Syrian ambassador to do so.”
“Any discussion about naturalization is illegal,” Derbas added.
Aoun warned following the weekly meeting of his Change and Reform bloc on Tuesday that the international community is conspiring to settle a large number of displaced Syrians in Lebanon.
He said the social affairs ministry is not counting the birth of Syrians and not pushing for their registration at their country's mission.
Lebanon hosts around 1.5 million Syrian refugees, but only 1.1 million are registered with the UNHCR.

This is the european equivalent of what kissinger planned for lebanon in 1975, with palestinians. And it would have worked was it not for the resistance of Kataeb and lebanese forces.

HAHAHA there it is, Frangieh's ashtray at head (or chest depending on the version) myth has been repeated, mostly by northern pro Marada/SSNP expats, so many times some people believe it's true!
Actually Kissinger concluded that Lebanon was a failed state after Frangieh went to meet him at on December 16, 1973 at Riyaq airport instead of Baabda like a proper president of a proper nation would. There were pro-PLO demonstrations around the Beirut airport and Kissinger could not securely land there and safely make his way to Baabda.

Let it be know to all that such practices by management contradict with the basic fundamentals of the Iranian constitution and free speech in North Korea.

No worries Mr derbas, aoun can spot the syrian ambassador from miles away by the smell of baraze2 and cash. Besides fear mongering and hypocrisy is aoun's bread and butter. Just look at the way he's treated the long time fpm members who disagreed with his appointment of bassil their president. Those who wouldn't shut up were fired and accused of working for the "embassies".
