Report: Hizbullah Still Committed to Aoun as Presidential Candidate

Hizbullah has not abandoned Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun as the presidential nominee of the March 8 alliance in spite of all the reports of the potential candidacy of Marada Movement chief MP Suleiman Franjieh, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper on Friday.

It said that Hizbullah's stance on Aoun “has not changed.”

A delegation from the party had relayed this position to the MP when it offered its condolences to him over the death of his brother earlier this week.

The delegation told Aoun: “We support you and stand by you.”

“You are our nominee as long as your candidacy still stands,” added the delegation according to al-Joumhouria.

Franjieh has emerged as a new unofficial presidential candidate as part of a greater political settlement aimed at resolving Lebanon's political deadlock.

The initiative first made the light in wake of a meeting held by Franjieh and Mustaqbal Movement leader MP Saad Hariri a few weeks ago.

Lebanon has been without a president since the term of Michel Suleiman ended in May 2014 without the election of a successor.

Ongoing disputes between the rival March 8 and 14 camps over a compromise candidate have thwarted the polls.

God bless the general of Generals for his staunch defense of Assad and Iran and now President Putin. General Aoun, Jumblatt, and Idi Amin are the only 3 world leaders that care about Christian and shia rights..... the rest pffft.

As a Shia Christian, Its a debt we owe to HA & a friendship & trust to hopefully last forever.
I am also proud of HA for protecting the Shia Christians of the ME.
they even rang the Huseinieh bells in Syria for us Shia Christians after they expelled Isis from Shia Christian towns & returned it to Aoun.
May the righteous forever stand strong.

Hezbollah has not abandoned aoun, but eventually they will vote for Franjieh.

Ebola is manipulating the Caporal. They are using him for blocking the Institutions, destroying the economy, Constitution, National Pact, and creating a void to put their hands on the whole country.
Observe the actual situation: is not the Caporal serving them well???

As long as we have a mareedman blocking everything, an Ebola manipulating him, and traitors supporting both, we have very good chances of losing this country.

Lol if Hezbollah were truly backing Aoun, then they would call for a vote between Aoun and Franjieh, since Mustaqbal has apparently nominated him.

But that's not what's happening, because Hezbollah doesn't want Aoun to be president. Instead, they want no president, and Aoun knows this but doesn't want to admit it publicly. If Aoun wants to be president (which, trust me, it's his dream), and he was M8's candidate, then he would be calling for a vote.

And the title of this article proves my point. "Report:" lol why is it a report when everyone "knows" that Aoun is still Hezbollah's candidate? The answer to that is: it's a report because it's not true! Lol Aoun has lost, Hezbollah used him to strengthen themselves and keep Christians weak and disunited. But Aoun is so senile and greedy he thinks he can drag this on forever. He would rather let this country drown (which it is, in trash lol) than let someone else become president.

He said it to his visitors:"Beirut has been destroyed 6 times, why not a 7th time?"

Missing humble 04 December 2015, 10:18

Shu? No problem. Let us destroy Beirut and the whole Lebanon for the sake of one megalomaniac.

well... one thing is for sure... if neither the LF or the FPM will endorse Frangieh... we have a problem...

“You are our nominee as long as your candidacy still stands,”

Hezbollah has kissed Aoun off. "As long as your candidacy still stands". Of course it does not stand anymore. The consensus has formed around Frangieh, including Russia, Syria and yes Iran want Frangieh. Aoun, screwed again. But then, if he would not bend over so much, maybe it would not make it so easy for this result to come everytime.
