Report: Geagea Mulling Possibility of Nominating Aoun, Rejects a Telephone Call from Hariri

Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea may be forced to endorse the nomination of MP Michel Aoun for the top state post if the nomination of Marada leader MP Suleiman Franjieh continues, Ad Diyar daily reported on Sunday.

“If there are chances for Franjieh, Geagea does not intend to accept that nomination and he will therefore be compelled to support the nomination of (his other rival) Aoun,” said the daily.

Moreover, reports have also said that Geagea received a telephone call from Mustaqbal movement ex-PM Saad Hariri which he refused to answer.

His stances come amid a flurry of political talks in the country that followed a Paris meeting between Franjieh and Hariri.

The meeting sparked intense speculation that the two leaders agreed to the nomination of the Marada chief for the presidency.

Geagea is the March 14 camp's presidential candidate, while media reports have spoken that Franjieh may be endorsed by the rival March 8 camp with the support of Mustaqbal Movement head MP Saad Hariri.

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun is the March 8 alliance's current candidate.

Lol not surprised Geagea ignored Hariri.

Jumblatt has convinced Hariri (from their meeting in Paris) to support a Franjieh because Aoun and Geagea are trying to give citizenship to the expatriates (many of whom are Christian) which in turn will give them the right to vote in the parliamentary elections (then FPM and LF will gain seats).

If Geagea supports Aoun (which would surprise me), Hezbollah will keep its boycott and reject Aoun because they want no president

Good move by Geagea, at least hes closer to Aoun than to Franjieh. And Hezbollah might well be the liar thats followed to the door.

Just goes to show how lost the Christians are and that the people are followers of the words there told and have no opinion. It's funny how people talk shit about there rivals and on the first corner they sell everything and truce. All I can say zgharta 3 haters 0. And wake up to your selfs you's faught each other to cancel one out and caused Christians to flee the country that's more than what any one person can to if frangihe has done anything bad it's not as damaging as the war between the army and the LF.

Poor hakim, finally finding out that he is just a pawn in a big game. The Saudis declined to see him and Hariri picks up the phone long after everything is said and done to offer a consolation.

Geagea bin Abdulaziz ALSAUD would not take Hariri's call becasue Saudi Arabia did not issue Geagea a visitor's visa to the kingdom. KSA and Hariri were considered main allies and contributors to Geagea, but they gave up on him.
Perhaps Geagea should try his luck in farming cedar trees.
