Suleiman to Assad: Terrorist Bombings Aimed at Targeting Arab Plan
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية

President Michel Suleiman condemned the "terrorist" bombings in Damascus on Friday, saying they were aimed at targeting the Arab roadmap intended to resolve the Syrian crisis.
In a telephone conversation with Syrian President Bashar Assad, the Lebanese head of state said the bombings which “coincided with the arrival to Syria of an observer mission's advance team aim at targeting the Arab plan that Syria and the Arab League had agreed to.”
The Arab plan, which was endorsed by Syria on November 2, intends to oversee an end to nine months of bloodshed, calls for the withdrawal of the military from towns and residential districts and a halt to violence against civilians and the release of detainees.
The suicide bombers hit the compound of the General Security Directorate and a military intelligence building in Damascus, killing more than 30 people.
The bombings, which officials blamed on al-Qaida, were the first attacks against Syria's powerful security services in the heart of the capital since the uprising began in March.

For 30 years the Syrian Baathists have been sending one car bomb after another to Lebanon, they assassinate two Lebanese presidents, A prime Minister, a Mufti, 100s of journalists and politicians, and thousands of innocent civilians...and our weak president calls Assad to condemn the bombing, so illogical and inapropriate!!

This is the first in what will be a long series of subterfuge acts designed to lay the blame everywhere and anywhere but the regime itself. The message of the dictator is: I will save you from terrorism. This, as he simultaneously commits the worst massacre in Idleb since the uprising began. Only the regime ass wipes are buying what Assad is selling, including the ambassador in Baabda.

Whoever did this - it might be the Syrian regime, it might be Al Qaida - Suleiman is right. The Baath might have done it to stir the arab observers away from the main concerns, Al Qaida might have done it to weaken the regime even more and make the work of the observers even more complicated.
May all the dead rest in peace...

Suleiman is right; however, it is the Assad regime that doesn't want the Arab plan and not some made up "AlQaeda". Think about it, how many rallies have there been pro-Assad and not one single shot or violence was aimed at those protesters...would it not make sense for AlQaeda or the opposition to aim at those protesters?? Fakro bala ghabaa2 please.

ya jabalmafiouamel... When did you hear of any operation that Al-qaeda did and never claimed responsibility for? Do you really beleive that 2 suicide bombers can pack explosives in cars inside Damascus and blow them up next to security buildings. Highly unlikely except for a demagogue like you. By the way, I see you finally mastered the "cut and paste" command. Do us all a favor and practice the next logical thing --- Silence!

Whoever has done this is not what;s at stake right now. There're innocent people dying every day for the sake of this nut head Assad to stay in power. It's not really fair.
As to Sulieman, he's a puppet and should have shut up instead of condemning the bombing to the same person who ordered them to be planted.
I am really amazed to see the Lebanon still being a door mat for Syria. They really have no dignity whatsoever.
Can't they see that what's happening in Syria is WRONG.
