Aoun Meets Borrell
President Michel Aoun met at Baabda Palace on Saturday the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the National News Agency reported Saturday.
MTV television station said no meetings are scheduled for Borrell with Lebanon’s heads of political parties during his two-day visit to Beirut.
The EU delegation had announced Borrell’s visit in a move to push for the formation of a new government.
Borrell is expected to “ deliver key messages to the Lebanese leadership, and convey the EU’s solidarity with the Lebanese people in these extremely difficult times,” an EU statement said.
