Bassil Says Unfair to Prosecute Those who ‘Did Their Job’ in Port Case

Head of the Free Patriotic Movement Jebran Bassil tweeted on Monday about the Beirut blast “tragedy,” saying that “the worst thing is injustice, and it is unjust for a crime to go unpunished.”
He called for immunity lifting so that “justice takes its course, the perpetrator gets punished and the innocent gets acquitted.”
Bassil stated that “there are definitely people, including officials, who were aware of the (ammonium) nitrate issue but remained silent, and it would be unjust if they don’t get punished.”
“But it is also unfair,” according to the FPM chief, “to prosecute those who were aware and did their job and did not remain silent!”
Bassil wrote that “it is necessary to interrogate all the accused” and concluded that “this is how justice prevails.”

Indeed, both Michel and Joseph Aoun we’re informed as acknowledged by them. It would truly be unjust if they don’t get punished. So why isn’t magistrate Bitar summoning them?

Because the judge is a supporter of Aoun. According to Bassil it is always somebody else responsible for negligence, corruption, demagoguery, incompetence....etc.

I’m having a hard time believing a Lebanese judge could be corrupt. Is it even conceivable? :)

1 hour ago Bassil said some officials knew that the nitrates were being "used," adding that it is unfair to prosecute those who "did their job and did not remain silent."
When this pos says some officials knew, it also means he knew that they knew and he is as guilty as the rest of them. The Army commander is a Aouni and the minister of defense is also Aouni for the last 10 or 15 years.
His father in law publicly acknowledged he received reports of the dangers associated with the nitrate but did nothing about it.
I say hang him!

If there is any justice in this world, you will not be alive today.

If they are so clean, why is there any problem to put them before a court, and then let it decide?

No. People having food in the corner supermarkets to feed their children, petrol at their local gas stations instead of having it smuggled to help Bashar, non counterfeit medicine on their local pharmacies shelves, safe water to drink out of their taps and 24/7 electricity like the dwarf in the above picture promised before he became a millionaire, those would be the best thing for Lebanon. BTW you remind me of another capital idiot who use to hang around here and like you never used capital letters. He was outed as a Syrian trying to pass for Lebanese and sounded just like you. You're not related to him by chance?

Bassil stated that “there are definitely people, including officials, who were aware of the (ammonium) nitrate issue but remained silent.
Does that include Aoun, the minister of defense, army intelligence, army commander, justice minister or everybody is guilty except the FPM, its ministers and its president?

The fact that he is talking about this means that he is trying to provide a cover for some of his friends and his favorite father in law. the old man knew about it, and has not decided to share that information. Does he think it makes him look any worse that he already is?
If anything, coming clean may take his legacy completely out of the crapper and give it a TEENY bit of breathing space. Right now, he is going to be forever linked as the WORST president in the world, or at least Lebanon.

FPM will always stand by the truth, Bassil Says it Unfair to Prosecute Those who ‘Did Their Job' he is right. Would you arrest someone for trying to feed his child by doing this job? whatever it is even if he could be stealing but to feed this child?. Regarding, FPM knowing of the ammonium was there or not. lets say he did know I bet my left nut that he would of flagged the issue with the gov because that the type of party we are. honest and stand by the truth. long live Aoun and bassil(our next president)......................................

It's also unfair not to prosecute you in the energy ministry for stealing billions from our monies to your foreign bank accounts. We ask the USA to track this guys bank accounts and accounts concealed under other names for his account and bring them back to our banks. I am sure from this stolen money Lebanon would regain its economic health. I am sure when Aoun dies, which is days or weeks from now, due to old age, this guy will vanish from the political scene and his prosecution would be easier. The day Aoun dies, should be celebrated as liberation day from evil.
