Aoun Summons Salameh over Lifting of Fuel Subsidies
President Michel Aoun summoned on Thursday Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh after his decision to lift subsidies on fuel, the Presidency said.
The bank had said overnight it will provide a line of credit for fuel importers at market price, ending subsidies on the scarce resource.
The move is likely to send prices soaring in a country already in the throes of an economic crisis.

Instead of bringing in people who have knowledge in how issues like these are solved, we see an ignorant president, who knows nothing about finance, interfering with issue that he knows nothing about. It's time for him to step down. He's 90 years old, and unable to walk, let alone manage a country in crisis. Enough with ignorant and stupid presidents.

During Yesterday's Meeting of the Higher Defense Council Salameh informed all the attendees including Aoun the Central Bank can no longer subsidize fuel imports. They all nodded their heads in agreement. Now, he wants to tell us the decision was a surprise to him and is 'summoning' Salameh?:) What a demagogue!
