Al-Rahi Slams 'Unilateral Will' that is 'Paralyzing Institutions'

W460

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Friday lashed out at the parties that are imposing their “unilateral will” on state institutions to the extent of “confining and paralyzing” them.

“We demand the restoration of our democratic system, because we have been living for years in a state of disorder,” al-Rahi said in his Christmas message.

He also called for “recovering our state, because we are living outside its boundaries and it is living outside its legitimacy, constitution and National Pact.”

The patriarch also reiterated that “the only gateway for salvation and rescue would be declaring Lebanon’s positive and active neutrality, in line with the National Pact that rejects turning Lebanon into a place or passageway for any foreign presence.”

The parties you are referring to are the ones that brought your man to the presidency so zip it.

Exactly, when Hezbollah and Aoun paralyzed parliament and the whole country for two and half years before imposing Aoun as president, Mr. Al Rahi had no problem with paralysis as long as it brought Aoun to the presidency.

Mr Rahi is part of the problem, not the solution.

Is al Rahi ready to get rid of Article 24, the 50% set-aside of Parliamentary seats for "Christians"?
