Nasrallah says Hizbullah must be in any govt., majority-minority talk 'unrealistic'
Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Tuesday stressed that his party should be represented in any future government, as he emphasized that Lebanon cannot be ruled in a unilateral manner regardless of who wins the parliamentary majority.
“We will keep insisting on being present in any government, regardless of its nature, structure and program, in order to protect the resistance's back,” Nasrallah told an electoral rally via video link.
“Lebanon cannot bear a leading sect nor a leading party, no matter how much this party may enjoy strength and popular support,” Nasrallah added.
“Elimination and exclusion under the slogans of majority and minority would plunge Lebanon into adventures, and I stress that we are with national partnership in order to pull Lebanon out of its crises,” the Hizbullah leader went on to say.
Emphasizing that the country is “built on partnership and non-elimination,” Nasrallah added that everyone must be represented in parliament according to their “natural sizes.”
“Under a sectarian system like the Lebanese one, any talk of majorities and minorities is not realistic,” he underlined.
Separately, Nasrallah emphasized that Lebanon “cannot bear a new civil war, even for changing the political system.”
“Civil war should be a prohibited red line,” Nasrallah added.
“There are problems and flaws in this system that must be addressed through reform,” he said.
In an apparent jab at the rival Lebanese Forces party, Nasrallah said the Lebanese are asked to choose between “those who call for civil peace and cling to it despite being killed on the roads of Tayyouneh” and those who “offer their services to foreign forces and are ready to make a civil war in Lebanon.”
He added that his party and its Amal Movement allies “carried their martyrs and wounded and insisted on civil peace despite having the ability to take revenge.”
Denying that his party is subordinate to Iran, Nasrallah said: “We are neither tools nor agents nor chess pieces. The Islamic Republic does not interfere in Lebanon, neither in politics nor in elections, and you have seen which ambassadors are touring Lebanon.”

Nasrallah: The country is built on partnership and non-elimination. Everyone must be represented in parliament according to their natural sizes, and the majoritarian electoral law did not do that but rather the proportional representation law.

10 May 2022, 18:01
Nasrallah: Beirut is the capital of resistance, Arabism and freedoms.
It is complete foolishness to think for one moment that Shia can elect the same basij drug dealers and murderers that killed Hariri, Tueni, Lukaim and hundred others; impoverished and isolated our country; raped in broad daylight our sovereignty, freedom, justice and dignity; and systematically destroyed state institutions from education, banking, health care, justice, economy ... and Lebanon will remain as one country. The Diaspora is capable of rebuilding Sunni and Christian regions in one year once after liberation and independence from the Basij. We've always been the intellectual and democracy cradle in the region and we'll restore this role again and the favorite location for multinational firms. A mistake of historical proportion for those who think that voting the basij occupier and their puppets will keep Lebanon as one country!
Nasrallah: Lebanon cannot be ruled in a unilateral manner regardless of who wins the parliamentary majority.
Funny, he didn't believe this when he thought his side was going to win the 2009 parliamentary elections, then went back on it after his side lost. Or in 2011 when he hand picked and appointed Najib Mikati PM or all governments since Saad Hariri's last one fell in 2019. This Takiya thing is so handy isn't it.
It's very difficult to convince the people that the country that finances, arms, and commands the Lebanese Hizb has no influence in internal politics. This is an insult to the intelligence of the Lebanese people....
So now the Lebanese forces (which handed their weapons at the end of the civil war) are dragging the country towards civil war? Did they assassinate Lebanon's finest? Did they put your thugs in cars and drive them from one peaceful neighborhood to another on the 7th of May or did they force them to ride on motorcycles and should Shia Shia across the streets of Beirut?
Oh I forgot...The Lebanese forces are responsible for turning Lebanon into a main exporter of Captagon..they are sending millions of pills to the countries that helped us for decades....They are the ones meddling with their internal politics and calling for toppling their regimes. They are the ones fighting in Syria, Yemen, and Ukraine to shore up the Iranian agenda. God bless you Sayyed for shedding the light on these important points.
Lebanese Forces seemed to have plently of weapons in Tayyouneh. Geagea wants civil war, but let's not forget how Tayyouneh was shocked and panicked when Amal Supporters started shooting back. You can thank Amal and Hezbollah leadership from preventing escalation.
I will thank them when Lebanon becomes their priority. As we stand today they are willing to sacrifice the country and its people for the sake of Iran.
The day this evil Iranian sectarian terrorist is brutally and violently murdered is the day we celebrate our true independence.
Why does he endorse a "sectarian" system which favors the Christian minority (Article 24 of the Lebanese Constitution which reserves half of parliamentary seats for Christians)?
majority-minority talk 'unrealistic' -> Great News! this means that he already knows that he wont get the majority !!!
Well Hezbollah and Amal combined have the biggest supporter base in Lebanon by majority of Lebanese Shia population.
Because the intimidate and force other candidates to withdraw as we saw in Hermel. I have many Shia friends and none of them support Hizb/Amal.
This is exactly the reason why this country is going back to the Middle Age...
Noam Chomsky says that more than half of all Lebanese are Shia.
Nasrallah: We are neither tools nor agents nor chess pieces. The Islamic Republic does not interfere in Lebanon, neither in politics nor in elections,
And I guess the money and arms that they provide hizb which meets the definition of control doesn't count--I guess that makes you mercenaries instead. I know the minions don't think, but the outsiders can see this easily. Arguments are moot--Iran tells hizb to jump, they say how high.
