Report: UNIFIL accuses Hezbollah of inciting residents against it

A Lebanese security report revealed that the UNIFIL vehicle targeted in the deadly al-Aqbiyeh incident was hit by “27 gunshots from several sides,” the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper quoted “credible sources” as saying.

“Security experts determined that the incident was not spontaneous and that the relevant parties in the area did not take a decision to contain the situation immediately after the incident,” the sources added.

“Based on the information and evidence contained in this report, Lebanese officials communicated with Hezbollah’s leadership to stress that the issue had become embarrassing toward the U.N. and the international community and that an appropriate exit should quickly be found,” Nidaa al-Watan said.

Accordingly, a senior Hezbollah security official “sought to hold a direct meeting with UNIFIL’s commander in a bid to reach the best formula to wrap up the case, but the meeting was held remotely via the Zoom application,” the sources added.

“During the Zoom meeting, the Hezbollah security official reiterated that the party is keen on the relation with UNIFIL and that it had nothing to do with what happened in the town of al-Aqbiyeh,” the sources said.

“If you are not directly responsible for the incident, you are responsible for inciting the popular environment in the South against us,” the sources quoted UNIFIL’s commander as telling Hezbollah’s official.

God bless our Shia resistance aka hezbollah for distancing itself from this heinous crime against the UNIFIL in an area inhabited by various sects and parties.

Our Shia resistance and the residents aka "Ahali" respect the UNIFIL and its role in South Lebanon. The deadly shooting of the young Irish peacekeeper is an Israeli orchestrated and executed plot aimed at tarnishing the image of our Shia resistance and the "Ahali" of the South.

Their plots will fail
Their schemes will collapse
Their evil will be their own undoing

Shia Shea Shia !!!

Okay then, Shia Shia Shia: hand over the perpetrators and call for finding them guilty in a court of law and being put to death as their just sentence.

If you will not fight for the value of life, you are not worthy of worshipping in any way, manner or form ... and if you do not know that already, you and all your family will be disappointed in due time.

Obviously Ansarullah is a satire account? I have always found him funny, even on this serious issue.

Word of the day

plot (n.)

late Old English plot "small piece of ground of defined shape," a word of unknown origin. The sense of "ground plan," and thus "map, chart, survey of a field, farm, etc." is from 1550s. Plat is a Middle English collateral form. The meaning "a secret, plan, fully formulated scheme" (usually to accomplish some evil purpose) is from 1580s, probably by accidental similarity to complot, from Old French complot "combined plan" (compare the sense evolution of plan), itself a word of unknown origin, perhaps a back-formation from compeloter "to roll into a ball," from pelote "ball." OED says "The usage probably became widely known in connexion with the 'Gunpowder Plot.' "

The meaning "set of events in a story, play, novel, etc." is from 1640s. Plot-line (n.) "main features of a story" is attested by 1940; earlier, in theater, "a sentence containing matter essential to the comprehension of the play's story" (1907).

Hezbollah operates only north of the Litani. It does not have a presence in the area the shooting occurred.
