Jumblat says Bassil playing an 'important role'

Former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat on Tuesday said that Free Patriotic Movement chief Jebran Bassil is playing an “important role,” in reference to the FPM chief’s meetings with the country’s leaders.

Jumblatt said that he along with Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Hezbollah ally Speaker Nabih Berri, are in agreement that the war shouldn't further expand into the tiny Mediterranean country. Jumblatt said that he held calls with top Hezbollah security officials on the matter.

“The meeting with Speaker Nabih Berri was excellent, Mikati is carrying out a major role and Bassil is playing an important role,” Jumblat said from the headquarters of the Druze spiritual council.

“The ground attack on Gaza might have repercussions on Lebanon, that’s why I communicated with Hezbollah so that we don’t get dragged into the war, which is underway in the South, but we call for refraining from expanding its zone,” Jumblat added.

“But the matter does not only hinge on Hezbollah, seeing as we don’t know what Israel wants,” the ex-PSP chief warned. "Israel could have hostile intentions, we must expect the worst.”

Aoun/Bassil already sold Lebanon freedom, independence and dignity to the Basij for 30 pieces of silver. What else can Bassil, the ultimate political prostitute, sell? We all remember that the 2006 War happened after Aoun Faustian deal with HizbIran, conveying Christian legitimacy and cover-up to Hizb's War so he can become president. Cedar Revolution had delegitimized Hizb Iranian arms and there was widespread support for disarming it to safeguard our democracy and State institutions. Is Bassil aiming for the same objective? Aoun/Bassil are redefining high treason, virulent corruption and nepotism to new levels. Sadly, not possible to have more stupid and gullible supporters as FPM, who are ultimately responsible for stealing our freedom and democracy and sending Lebanon to Hell.

Not only Hezbollah's opponents don't want it to start a war Hezbollah own allies are against Hezbollah's starting a war. Will Nasrallah listen to the Lebanese voices asking him not to involved Lebanon, over Khamenei's voice telling him you go when I tell you to go? I doubt it.
