Flyers threaten Walid Abboud with kidnap, torture and murder

Prominent Lebanese journalist and talk show host Walid Abboud on Monday received threats to his life through a number of flyers that were thrown around his house in Keserwan.
Signed “the Houthi Ansarullah Group,” in reference to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, the flyers contained slurs against Abboud and his family and kidnap, torture and death threats.
“Stop attacking the security and dignity of the Islamic and Arab nation from your Zionist and collaborator channel,” the flyers say.
Abboud is currently the news director at Lebanon's MTV and the host of a talk show on the state-run Tele Liban.
“The time of your punishment has come … So be always ready and cautious regarding the penalties that await you: kidnap, torture and then physical liquidation,” the flyers add.
The threats were widely condemned in Lebanon, with the Lebanese Forces stressing that any intimidation attempt will fail and noting that Lebanon “has entered the era of the state.”
