Army arrests six suspects who attacked UNIFIL in Bint Jbeil

The Lebanese Army on Saturday announced the arrest of six individuals accused of attacking a UNIFIL patrol in Bint Jbeil in south Lebanon.

"On the night of 4-5/12/ 2025, a number of citizens attacked a patrol of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) on the al-Tiri-Bint Jbeil road, which resulted in damage to a vehicle belonging to it, without any casualties among its members," the army said.

"The Directorate of Intelligence arrested six involved in the attack.

The Army Command emphasizes the seriousness of any attack on UNIFIL, and affirms that it will not relent in pursuing those involved," the army warned, highlighting "the fundamental role played by UNIFIL in the southern Litani region, the close coordination relationship between it and the army, and its active contribution to efforts to restore stability."
